探秘“时间频度副词”

在初中英语中，常出现usually，sometimes，often，always等时间频度副词。它们在句中的位置灵活，意义有异。现归纳如下：

一、置于句首。

如：

Usually I go to bed at ten in the evening.通常我在晚上十点睡觉。

Sometimes I go to school by bus.有时我乘公共汽车去上学。

注意：often，usually，sometimes等置于句首，起加强语气的作用。但often置于句首时，主语和谓语一般要倒装。如：Often have I been there.我经常到那儿去。

二、置于句中。

有三种情况：

1．放在行为动词前。如：

We sometimes go to see the film.我们有时候去看电影。

I usually have lunch at twelve.我通常在12点吃午饭。

2．放在be动词后。如：

Tom is often late for school.汤姆上学经常迟到。

He is always ready to help us.他随时准备帮助我们。

3．若行为动词前有助动词，则放在助动词和行为动词之间。如：

I have always known he would come.我早就知道他会来的。

She was often dressed in black in winter.她在冬天常穿黑色的衣服。

三、置于句末（起加强语气的作用）。

如：

Do you hear from Jim often?你经常收到吉姆的来信吗？

We played games sometimes.我们有时玩游戏。

I’ll love my work always.我将永远爱我的工作。

此外，还应注意它们之间在意义上的区别：

1. usually意为“通常”，强调“习惯性；一贯如此”。如：

On Saturdays he usually goes to the cinema.星期六他通常去看电影。

2. sometimes意为“有时”，强调“非经常性；偶尔；不常”。如：

I go to school on foot sometimes.有时候我步行去上学。

3. often意为“常常”，强调“频频重复；断续重复；非均匀重复”。如：

We often go to the park.我们常到公园去。

4. always意为“总是；一直”，强调“永远；没有例外”，表示连续的行为或状态。如：

The sun always rises in the east.太阳总是从东方升起。
