Unlike state-owned enterprises, the leaders of private enterprises are both the owners and the operators. The lack of motivation for cultural innovation will easily lead to“market failure”, which will go against the sustainable development of private enterprises. With the intensification of globalization and the emergence of a“global village”, private enterprises in China are facing severe challenges from the domestic and foreign markets. It is necessary to promote cultural innovation in order to keep pace with the global development and maintain the upper hand. Obviously, cultural innovation is not a smooth and quick process, and crisis governance is especially important. This article analyzes the current situation, problems and origins of the cultural innovation crisis in private enterprises. From the perspective of the supply-side reform of economy, this article argues that the crisis governance paths of cultural innovation in Chinese private enterprises should be based on the effective supply of institutions, public policies, human resources, technologies and global resources. Both the concept of new cultural innovation and the method of supply-side reform will promote the sustainable innovation of private enterprises in China. It will also contribute to the construction of the“One Belt, One Road”and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation thanks to the Chinese dream.

A Research Review about the Construction of Organizational Legitimacy and Media Professional Authority

Zhang Zhen

This research review about the construction of organizational legitimacy and media professional authority can be summarized as follows: first of all, the research paradigm of organizational legitimacy has shifted from the “normative”to the“empirical”, providing a methodology to study journalism from the perspective of discourse; secondly, in terms of research issues, scholars focus on analyzing the internal and external dimensions of journalism, such as illustrating the controversy between the professional and public discourse, and also indicating the characteristics of discourse surrounding different actors; finally, scholars have tried to use the concepts of“boundary work”and“reflexive practice”to analyze the research issues.

Unbalanced Flow: The Study of Chinese Inter-Provincial News based on Dependency Theory

Zhang Yang & Chen Keling

Most of the existing studies about news flow see nation-states as units, while this study tries to use dependency theory in international news studies to research the news flow between provinces in China. Results indicate that the attention of every province towards inter-provincial news flow presents significant differences, and more developed provinces occupy a prominent position, but the presentation of different provinces in the news flow does not represent their own economic level, and less developed provinces receive more attention than moderately developed provinces. In addition, correlation tests indicate that the level of economic development and the population have a significant positive correlation for inter-provincial news flow, and the effect of geographic distance is not supported by statistical data.

Marginal Resistance under the New Media Discourse Empowerment——Discourse Analysis of an AIDS Forum

Hu Yumeng

New media changed the picture of discourse control, and empowered marginal groups, enabling them to express themselves. Based on the discourse analysis on an AIDS online forum, this paper tries to reveal how individuals with the stigma of AIDS implement discourse resistance. This study found that marginal groups do not passively accept this stigma, but they also rarely clearly struggle for their rights. Instead they often try to dispel their stigma by using small, even poetic discourse. At least four strategies are used: to name AIDS as a“chronic disease”instead of“plague”or“infectious disease”, constructing a new AIDS knowledge system; to weave the sick into a logic of predestination, reducing the responsibility for their own behavior; to emphasize the sub-culture feature of“promiscuity”, by expressing the view that sexual freedom is a form of natural human freedom; to rectify the concept of “homosexuality”, constructing an infection narrative for the interests of the gay community, with“love”as a clue and“tolerance”as a slogan.

Cognition and Communication Strategies of Writers for Science Dissemination

Tang Leshui

The development of science dissemination has gone through three steps, shifting from citizens understanding science as established by the scientific community to the dissemination of science by citizens. Through the description of their attitudes towards science dissemination, science groups on the Internet and the masses involved, we aim at finding their communication strategies.

Media, Space and Localization of City Image——The Expression of the Image of Suzhou in Contemporary TV Dramas

Zhang Menghan

The city image in contemporary TV dramas exists as a symbol of metaphor, and its combinations need two base conditions, namely a high degree of representation and obtaining public recognition in a long period of time. As a representation of local city image, the image of Suzhou in contemporary TV dramas mainly includes natural images and non-natural images, such as ancient water town, embroidery andkunopera. Apparently, this kind of city image constructed by the media is not only closely related to local historical and cultural context but also associated with people’s living conditions and actions. Moreover, the city images constructed by customs, history, and present events from different regions form a unique culture. Therefore, it can provide a reference for us to observe the relationship between media, people and society by reviewing the changes of various city images in TV series.

The modern diffusion of this classical masterpiece reshaped in the process of merging it with the modern culture.

The Canonization of Hugo’s Poetics of Beauty and Ugliness

Lin Xiaoxiao

The poetics of beauty and ugliness is an essential part of Hugo’sNotreDame. It is so deeply rooted in literary history that it can be divided into three main parts: the facilitation of harmony, the function of sarcasm and the generation of the sublime. Hugo absorbed ideas derived from philosophy, literature and ethics into his own romantic poetics.

On the Canonization ofJulie,ortheNewHeloise

Xu Yuji

The generation of literary canonization is not a kind of static value judgment, but rather a reshaping process in the dialogue between literary and non-literary factors, between the text itself and the social context in a time-space continuum. The canonization ofJulie, ortheNewHeloise, is closely related with Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s responses to the Enlightenment, the popularity of epistolary novels, the rise of a female readership, as well as Rousseau’s comprehensive consideration of natural principles and social customs.
