Construction of the English environment in class

【Abstract】the aim of the vocational English teaching is to cultivate students' ability of using language.this paper mainly analyses ways and means for the construction of classroom environment in order to improve the students' English communicative competence and teachers' teaching quality.

As we all know,English is used as a communication tool in twenty-first Century,China is becoming more and more important in the global stage.English as a common language in the world has been attached great importance to all countries in the world.With the development and progress of the society, the exchange of different cultures and languages naturally increase.Globalization has become an irresistible trend of history,therefore,we should strengthen the construction of English classroom environment as soon as possible to develop students' ability in English learning to the full,so that students could experience the cultural atmosphere of English consciously or unconsciously.

1.teachers' preparation in speaking

Teachers' preparing the lessons is a very important link in the teaching procedure.The traditional preparation of the teachers is to prepare the fixed language point while the spoken English is not paid enough attention.Since students' psychological state may be easily overlooked,Teachers should pay attention to the simplification of the classroom language.vocational students are generally afraid of difficult learning materials.Teachers should make the classroom language more familiar to them in order to stabilize the students and retain their focus.The first step in the implementation of English teaching is to design a reasonable task.Teachers try to ensure that the content of the task is relevant to the actual life so that students can more easily be interested.the students are more easy to understand the meaning of language and language skills.In addition,the level of language knowledge required to accomplish the task should be in line with the level of the students.The purpose of the classroom teaching is to let the students master new knowledge on the basis of consolidating the learned knowledge,.Thus the task is not supposed to be too easy,if the tasks are below their level,it will only make the students think it is a waste of time and they will lose interest about what to do.It should also not be too difficult,If the tasks are above their level,they will completely lose enthusiasm,not to mention the successful completion of the task.only in this way could the teacher give them a sense of accomplishment.

2.students' preparation in speaking

When the students try to express their views,the answers are generally in Chinese English.Teachers should give guidance to strengthen students' English thinking ability.The teacher himself should also learn to avoid the emergence of Chinese English in the English teaching and try to ensure that there will be no ambiguity in the sentences.we can start from the interpretation of words.Let the students explain the words in English Instead of asking questions," What is the Chinese meaning of this word.?" we can gradually try to let the students elaborate a word,a phrase and a sentence in simple English.In short,in the course of constructing the environment in class,the teacher puts the students in an active English environment to activate the students' English thinking.The students also learn to Paraphrase to explain the structure of a long more difficult English sentence.As time goes,the students dare to say confidently so as to construct an active class atmosphere.

At last, the Construction of English classroom teaching should be from the examination -oriented education to quality education,from teachers-centered to the students-centered.Teachers should learn to master modern Theory of English teaching methods and make full use of modern teaching equipment to provide students with an active learning environment in class.
