My Trip to Beijing

I took a trip to Beijing with my parents during the seven-day holiday. We all had a happy time.

On the first day， we went to the Wangfujing Street. Its a busy shopping street. We went into many stores. I didnt buy any clothes but bought two books in the Wangfujing Bookstore. On the second day， we climbed the Great Wall. The wall looks like the tail of a huge dragon. While I was climbing， I thought of the saying “One who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a hero.” Later in the holiday， we visited some other places of interest， such as the Imperial Palace， the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven.

Beijing is a beautiful place and I had a happy holiday there. If I have a chance， I will go there again.

The Importance of Reading

At present， most students should have known the importance of reading. However， many of them are not willing to do any reading after class. Here are several reasons. Firstly， most students complain that there is too much homework to do so that they have little time for reading. Secondly， some of them do not have the habit of reading. In addition， quite a few students spend most of their free time watching TV or surfing on the Internet， so they hardly ever do some reading even though they have enough time.

It is worthwhile reading because there are many good points. For example， we can know more about this world by reading. Hardly can all of us have the opportunity to travel around the world and see everything with our own eyes. Through reading， however， we can get the knowledge to some extent. Whats more， not only can it teach us how to have a thought， but also give us a much more colourful life. Above all， its very important for us to read， so lets put it into practice.
