The Best Day of My Summer Vacation

I planned to go somewhere with my parents when the summer vacation began， and finally we decided to go to a famous island in my hometown in a cool Friday by ship. We all looked forward to going there.

On that day the weather is not very hot and the wind is mild. My parents and I appreciated the beautiful seaside scenery while we walked to the pier. Our laugh made this family day very enjoyable.

When we arrived at the pier， unfortunately， the ticket seller told us that the tickets had all been sold out. I felt a little bit disappointed， but my mother said it didnt matter and suggested that we can walk on the beach near the pier. I agreed and considered it may be funnier.

We three sit on the attractive beach， let our bodies relaxed totally and enjoyed the smell of the sea. I talked with my parents about my university life and they showed much interest in it. We talked for such a long time that we almost forgot to go home.

Although we didnt reach our destination， we didnt mind. We all considered that day the best day of my summer vacation because it was a wonderful family day.

一到寒暑假，国内就会有许多学生因为要上各类补习班而患上“恐假症”。相比之下，国外的中小学生就幸福很多，且看——

美国：广阔天地显身手

美国的学生没有假期作业，但是他们都注重阅读。每天保证一定时间读书是他们的习惯。对于低年级的学生，学校还特别举办有奖读书活动。假期初始，孩子们领一张“读书计时表”，要求每天读书半个小时，或者听大人读书半个小时。到开学的时候，孩子们的计时表填满了，这时就可以领到一份可爱的奖品。

由于假期没有课业任务，学生可以有大量的时间参加文体活动，发展个人的兴趣爱好。棋牌、音乐、表演、厨艺、雕塑等应有尽有，五花八门。

而美国的中学生，特别是高中生，假期里比较独立。他们在假期里大都参加工作，有做义工的，有做小时工的，也有做实习生的。除了自己赚到一些零花钱外，更重要的是他们通过参与社会实践得到了锻炼，丰富了自己的阅历，增长了才干，为将来步入社会积累了宝贵的经验。

英国：家长不强迫孩子上补习班

在英国，寒假一般包括圣诞节的1周和2月份的1周假期。这两段时间都是英国的传统节日，学生的主要活动就是参加家庭聚会和外出游玩，例如2月份时很多英国家庭都出去滑雪。

英语、数学等课程类假期补习班在英国不是特别普遍，家长一般不会强迫孩子去上补习班。并且，因为请家教价格昂贵，一般的家庭也不会给孩子请家教。而富有的家庭给孩子请的家教，多是音乐、美术等艺术类课程。只有一些课业特别困难、赶不上学校进度的学生，才会在假期上补习班。

在英国，假期里还流行让孩子们到欧洲其他国家的城市家庭互换居住，孩子们到对方的家里去住，去当地旅游，在生活中学习当地的语言和习俗。

菲律宾：打工度假是首选

从每年3月底到6月初，菲律宾学生会迎来他们的悠长假期。在所有假期活动中，打工被菲律宾学生视为最有建设性的选择。对家境贫困的学生来说，这无疑是贴补家用的好办法，即便是不用为下学期学费发愁的学生，也可以往口袋里添些零用钱。

临近长假，翻开报纸就能看到不少特长和兴趣培训班的广告。唱歌、跳舞、表演、绘画……孩子们非常希望能够开采自己“才能的金矿”。在菲律宾，只有两种学生假日须留在家中：一种是年龄太小的孩子，不方便外出参加活动；另一种则是在期末考试中亮了红灯，为了应对补考，只能在家奋发努力。

法国：增开多处“娱乐中心”

6月30日，巴黎中小学生便开始了他们的暑假生活。巴黎有260多处“娱乐中心”，专门接待放假时期白天无人照管的3至13岁的孩子，中心的费用由国家教育部和巴黎市政府共同支付。

在中心除了做游戏，孩子们还会被带着过“自然日”（去植物园骑自行车，去郊区农场参观），过“文化日”（参观博物馆，看电影），过“发现日”（参观科技展览，学做中国菜）等。对年龄稍大的孩子，娱乐中心会定期组织2至5天的旅游或体育活动。

瑞士：暑假日期各州自定

中小学校自6月26日起陆续放暑假，瑞士联邦政府对暑假的开始日期没有统一规定，26个州各有决定的自主权。瑞士由各市镇政府赞助，建立起各种类型的夏令营，专门接收6至12岁的儿童。每天家长把孩子送到营地，8时到17时由专人负责照看，下班后再把孩子接回家，这有效地解决了双职工家长的后顾之忧。夏令营的费用每星期在80至100瑞郎（480元至600元人民币）之间。

高中生的暑期生活就更为丰富多彩了。他们一般选择出国旅游，主要是邻近的法国、德国、奥地利、意大利或其他欧盟国家。也有的学生到英国或德国进行短期语言训练旅行，联系住进当地的一个家庭里，与房东同吃同住，既了解了异国他乡的风土人情，又得到了外语的实际操练。
