《凯莉日记》：青春不是童话

美剧《欲望都市》已经成为一个时代的经典，也许因为当年的热播盛况为人所久久不能忘怀，于是在如今这个卖萌才是王道的时代，擅长打造年轻时尚偶像的CW电视台就利用拍前传的方式来了一次时光倒流，让女主角凯莉回到少女时代，在今年年初推出了《凯莉日记》。

故事发生的地点依然是在曼哈顿，时间回溯至凯莉的高中时代，讲述这个80年代的青春少女对爱情、友情等的最初困惑。16岁的她刚遭受了母亲去世的打击，父亲无法应对突变，妹妹更无比叛逆，尽管英俊的转校生为她带来了初恋的兴奋，但凯莉依然提不起精神，直到父亲提出把她送去曼哈顿的律师事务所实习。纽约的光怪陆离与繁华时尚在第一时间就让凯莉着了迷，初到大城市的她爱上了曼哈顿的生活方式，并不顾一切地去融入这里的时尚氛围。

虽然二十多年前的浮华风尚让人注目的理由也许仅仅是夸张和艳丽无所不在，但凯莉稚气的脸庞以及她在这个活色生香的城市开始奋斗的点点足迹，就是一大看点。当然，只是《凯莉日记》这么少女的名字，也足以吸引一大群粉丝了，不是吗？

新学期第一天早上，凯莉找不到妈妈留给她的手提包，她确信是叛逆的妹妹多莉特偷拿了。在和妹妹争执的时候，爸爸过来了……

Carrie： Give me back my purse， Dorrit！

Mr. Bradshaw： God， what the hell is going on in here？！

凯莉：还我手提包，多莉特！

布莱肖先生：天呐，到底发生了什么事？！

Carrie： She bit me！

Dorrit： Shes going through my stuff！

Carrie： Yeah. Yeah， I know.

Mr. Bradshaw： All right？ So whatever you two were fighting about， its not worth it.

Carrie： She stole moms purse.

Mr. Bradshaw： You dont know that.

Carrie： I cant go to school without the purse， dad.

Mr. Bradshaw： Youre going to school.

Carrie： I dont have anything to wear.

Mr. Bradshaw： Come on. Youve got a whole floor full of clothing.

Carrie： No. Mom used to take me shopping for an outfit. It was…was a thing we did， you know？ Back-to-school clothes.

Mr. Bradshaw： Okay. Did you want me to take you？

Carrie： No. No. That was...um...supposed to be mom.

Mr. Bradshaw： I see.

Carrie： I just...I need the purse. I...I need a piece of her.

Mr. Bradshaw： I have an idea. （Takes Carrie to Mrs. Bradshaws closet， then picks up a pair of sunglasses and gives it to Carrie）

Carrie： Really？

Mr. Bradshaw： Yeah. Just...try not to let em get broken in your backpack.

Carrie： Ill be super careful， I promise.

凯莉：她咬我。

我们很多时候都用“difficult”来形容一件事或事物，其实它也可以用来形容人，意思一般有两种：

1）表示一个人不易相处。例如：

I have always found Linda difficult. （我总觉得琳达这人很难相处。）

2）形容一个人不易取悦。例如：

Yvonne met a very difficult customer yesterday. （伊冯昨天遇到一个很挑剔的顾客。）

Mouse： I have to agree. New kid.

Carrie： Does new kid have a name？

Maggie： Even his name is cool.

Mouse： Sebastian Kydd.

Maggie： Hes been kicked out[（口）开除] of three boarding schools—Deerfield， Exeter， and I forget where else. His parents finally had to give up and bring him home. Theyre totally rich. He drives a Porsche.

Walt： Mags， you do realize Im standing right here and Im your boyfriend？

（Sebastian walks towards Carrie）

Sebastian： Hey， Bradshaw.

Carrie： Hey.

“How （are） you holding up？”也是一种与人打招呼的用语，但要注意，它一般是见到一位刚刚经历过不幸或者遭遇了挫折的朋友时的问好方式。“hold up”表示坚持、经受考验。所以这句话一般可以译为：还撑得住吗？

“Believe it or not…”是大家在美剧中常听到的一句口语，说话人一般用它来引出让人惊讶的事情，例如：

Believe it or not， Im going to France on Wednesday！ （信不信由你，我这周三就要去法国了！）

Mr. Bradshaw： Some would call it that...or call me crazy for agreeing to this， but what about an internship？ One day a week， for school credit， of course.

Boss： But you think youre young and cute， and because your dad is friends with Harlan Silver—one of the partners here—youre not accountable[有责任的].

Carrie： No. I know I am. These are the binders that are already done. Well， 50 of them. I still have the last ten to do this afternoon. Boss： What is that？

《匹诺曹》又称《木偶奇遇记》（The Adventures of Pinocchio），是十八世纪意大利作家卡洛·科洛迪（Carlo Collodi）留给世人的经典童话故事。故事的主角是一个名叫匹诺曹（Pinocchio）的小木偶，他一心渴望成为一个活生生的男孩。蓝仙女答应了他的要求，但要求他必须学会诚实，如果说谎，鼻子就会变长。还没有认真意识到诚实重要性的匹诺曹，鼻子很快就越变越长，并且麻烦的事情也接踵而至！终于，在经过无数艰辛的磨难和考验后，匹诺曹总算了解到诚实的含义，也变成了一个真正的“人”。

多莉特一直想养一只仓鼠，可是没有足够的钱买，于是从商店偷走了一只，被凯莉发现……

Carrie： Dorrit， what is this？

Dorrit： Thats Morrissey， like the lead singer in The

Carrie： Where did it come from？

Dorrit： Im guessing a female hamster[仓鼠].

Carrie： Does dad know about this？

Dorrit： No， but Im sure youll tell him.

Carrie： You cant just get a hamster without asking dad.

Dorrit： I did ask. He said， “Not now，” which means never.

Carrie： And he doesnt think we know that.

Dorrit： But mom said shed get me one. She just...didnt get around to[抽出时间做某事] it.

Carrie： Okay. I get it. But...now you have to take care of it. You cant just stick it in a shoebox. It should have food and water， a wheel. I mean， at the very least， a cage.
