7.I beg your pardon
①请求说话者再说一遍的正式用语,意为:我没有听清你说的话,请再重复一遍好吗?(非正式用语为Beg pardon.或 Pardon. 美国用法是Pardon me?)
I beg your pardon!What did you say? I didn t catch it properly.
②可以表示道歉,相当于I m sorry.
I accidentally(不小心)pushed Sam as I passed him, so I said to him, “I beg your pardon!”
③不同意对方说的话,认为对方错了。
I beg your pardon, but what you re saying is the opposite(反面)of the truth.
8.If you please.
①用于提出彬彬有礼的请求,意为“对不起”,“请劳驾”。
Step this way, ladies and gentlemen, if you please.
I will wash my hands(去洗手间), if you please.
②表示某事不可信或不合理,意为“你看多奇怪”,“竟……”。
I want you to do it now, not tomorrow, if you please(真不像话)!
He crashed(撞)my car, and now, if you please, he makes me pay the repair bill(修理费).
9.Just a moment
①等于Wait a moment. 等一等。同义语还有:one moment, half a moment, half a trick, just a second, just a tick等。
Just a moment, please—I m still dealing with another customer(顾客) . I ll be with you in just a moment.
②用于想提出评论或反对的场合。(此时可用minute或second替换moment)
Just a moment!What about the plans for the other side of the building?
③用于表示吃惊或惊讶。
Just a moment!Aren t you the man we met on the train yesterday?

①当接受礼物、服务或答谢表扬等时表达感激之情。
