It is known that Wang Ning, former Chief of Staff of the Beijing Military Region, was appointed Vice Chief of Staff (VCS) of the Peoples Liberation Army. He was the youngest VCS ever in the history of PLA and thus he is believed to have a bright outlook.
Wang ning, 57, is a Vice Admiral in the PLA. A source close to the military group in Beijing said that Wang Ning took the place of Admiral Zhang Qinsheng, becoming one of the five VCSs.
Zhang Qingsheng, 65, was unable to get into the Central CPC Military Committee, the highestranked military organization in China. Then he was appointed the deputy director of the Financial and Economic Commission of the National Peoples Congress.
Wang Nin is now a candidate for the member of the Central CPC Military Committee. The promotion proved his bright outlook. If he could become one of the commanders-general of the seven military regions in China, he is very likely to get into the Committee in 2017.
Wang Ning came from Shandong. He once worked for the Nanjing Military Region for over 20 years, taking charge of the military affairs in Anhui, Fujian, Jiangsu, Jiangsu, Shanghai and Zhejiang.
In December 2010, he was appointed Chief of Staff of Beijing Military Region. During that he worked closely with Admiral Fang Fenghui, then the commander-general of Beijing Military Region, and now the Chief of Staff of PLA.
