重庆为欧洲敞开大门——欧盟13国驻华使节访渝

为增进欧盟国家对重庆发展状况的了解 特别对重庆在西部大开发中的作用与地位 以及长江上游最大的中心城市战略地位的认识 应重庆市的邀请 6月9日到11日 欧盟国家驻华使节代表团来渝访问 包括匈牙利、爱尔兰、爱沙尼亚、卢森堡、保加利亚、希腊、斯洛文尼亚、斯洛伐克、瑞典、西班牙、德国、奥地利、法国等13个欧盟国家的驻华使节及其夫人来到重庆 感受山城魅力 寻求交流合作。欧盟国家驻华使节如此大规模地组团来渝访问 这在重庆还属首次。

欧盟驻华使节代表团一行先后来到重庆市规划展览馆参观规划设计 听取重庆市发改委主任杨庆育所作的重庆经济社会发展情况介绍。目前 已有160余家“世界五百强”企业入驻重庆 亚洲最大的笔记本电脑生产基地正在建成 国内最大的“云计算”落户成功。

在三峡博物馆和湖广会馆 大使们对重庆深厚的巴渝文化和纯朴的地域风情很感兴起 纷纷拍照留念。

在两江新区管委会 欧盟使节们一边观看展板和沙盘 一边听取相关人员对两江新区规划蓝图的描述 当得知两江新区是中国内陆唯一 而且是中国内陆地区发展速度最快、生态保护最好的改革开放开发新区时 欧盟使节们纷纷表示将在重庆寻找更多的合作机会。

在江北嘴中央商务区规划展览厅 欧盟使节们详细了解中央商务区已建项目与在建项目的相关情况 得知这一商务区将于2015年打造成为重庆市的文化、商业和金融又一高地时 不禁发出由衷地感叹。

在重庆的民生工程--两江新区片区的民心家园 欧盟使节们了解户型结构 观摩样板间内的设施 当得知重庆的公租房建设走在全国前列时 对重庆公租房的建设者们是赞不绝口。

在中国著名的国家级高新技术企业重庆金山科技 集团 有限公司 代表团们听了公司负责人关于公司的科研成果的介绍 得知这一企业正在整合国际国内资源 聚集欧美等全球MEMS领域内的顶尖高科技企业 建立世界级的研发中心、产业中心、产业孵化中心、学术研究中心、金融中心和人才特训中心 打造世界级的金山硅谷时 纷纷竖起了大拇指。

考察期间 欧盟使节们还兴致勃勃地乘船游览了长江与嘉陵江 参观了大足石刻 在重庆大剧院观看了文艺演出。

在渝期间 欧盟使节们分别与中央政治局委员、重庆市委书记薄熙来 重庆市委常委、两江新区党工委书记、管委会主任翁杰明进行了会见 受到重庆市委副书记张轩、副市长刘学普的宴请。外交部华春莹参赞、重庆市政府副秘书长艾扬、市政府外事侨务办公室主任郝明等参加了上述会见或宴请。

翁杰明两江新区旨在缩小贫富差距

中国改革开放以来 先后批准成立了广东的深圳特区、上海的浦东、天津的滨海以及重庆的两江开发新区 各个新区在不同的历史时期担负着不同的历史使命。广东的深圳、上海的浦东、天津的滨海都是地处沿海地区 其历史使命是我们改革开放初期让一部分人先富起来 而重庆的两江新区 不仅是内陆地区发展速度最快、生态环境保护最好的经济开发新区 其历史使命则是缩小城乡贫富差距的示范区。

例如 重庆的公租房建设、农转非户籍制度改革等 不仅解决了剩余劳动力的就业问题 还解决了部分困难群众的住房问题。在两江新区经济发展上大力推行新的模式。扩大内需特别是满足中西地区的自我需求 发展环保节能的新能源汽车 发展以笔记本电脑、“云计算”为代表的高新技术产业。以往 一些开发区考虑的是产业 没有过多地考虑城市功能重庆两江新区在学习借鉴上海的浦东新区和天津的滨海新区成功经验的同时 更多地把城市的功能也都考虑进去。我们注重发展节能环保汽车、笔记本电脑和“云计算”等优势产业 做大做强 形成品牌。

重庆市副市长刘学普向来访的驻华使节介绍重庆近年来经济社会发展状况时称 重庆这个内陆开放高地已经向欧洲敞开了大门。

当前 重庆正处于高速城市化和工业化发展进程中。随着两江新区这个国家级开放开发新区的成立 面临新的发展机遇 已挂牌运行的两路寸滩保税港区、西永综合保税区等则是重庆对外开放的重要平台和窗口。

刘学普介绍说 法国的拉法基、家乐福英国的渣打银行 瑞典的爱立信等一批欧盟国家知名企业相继入驻重庆 在多个领域已经有了广泛的合作空间 这些成功的案例 是重庆与欧盟国家合作的典范。通过欧盟国家驻华使节代表团来渝访问 希望有更多的欧盟国家企业来渝投资兴业 也有理由相信重庆与欧盟各国的交流合作必将得到深化。

邀请欧盟国家驻华使节来渝访问 旨在增进欧盟国家对重庆的了解 扩大重庆与欧盟国家的友好交往和互利合作。刘学普说 重庆正在成为内陆重要经济高地、对外开放的桥头堡 与欧盟国家的联系正在日益增强。

推进城镇化发展进程模式将是未来双方合作重点。重庆是中国统筹城乡综合配套改革试验区 也是高新技术迅猛发展的城市 让重庆拥有较中国其他城市更多的与欧盟国家合作的优势。他希望通过此次访问加深对重庆经济社会发展的了解 为双方今后更深入的交流合作打基础。

对此次来渝 不少欧盟使节们表示 他们对在重庆寻找合作机遇充满信心。

杨庆育4大领域谋求与欧盟国家合作

“未来5年 重庆与欧洲的关系将越来越密切。”重庆市发改委主任杨庆育在介绍重庆经济社会发展情况时说 由于重庆是一个多民族居住的大城市、大农村、大库区、大山区 随着国家的战略重心转移 重庆被列为“五大中心城市之一” 内陆开放高地初具雏形。重庆与欧洲合作交流将更加频繁。除了在文化、能源、环保、高新技术等方面可以进行广泛的合作 产业方面 重庆至少有4个方面可以与欧洲各国展开合作。一是汽车产业 重庆正在打造新能源汽车 而欧洲在发展新能源汽车方面有很好的经验 二是装备制造业 如轨道交通、飞机机载系统等方面均有合作空间 三是软件服务外包以及“云计算“ 四是新能源技术及人才教育等方面 重庆是西部的人才高地 科研、技术转化、成果应用等方面 欧洲都可以给重庆提供好的经验。

重庆正在打造笔记本产业 根据测算 重庆的笔记本电脑将有50%出口到欧洲 今年将有1000万台重庆造笔记本电脑出口到欧洲各国。

今年一月份刚到中国的艾德和先生对这个国家的一切都感到很新鲜 这也是他第一次来重庆 “我不知道用什么词来表达此时的感受 我只能用‘印象深刻’来形容。重庆是一个古现代文明结合的综合体 湖广会馆代表着重庆具有古老历史特色的过去 而三峡博物馆向我们展示的是重庆的一个长足发展历史长河 让我们看到这个城市过去的辉煌成就。”

艾德和团长希望借此参观考察 寻求与重庆的合作。“重庆现在很注重环境保护 我们会进一步在绿色环保方面探讨合作机会。”

在与翁杰明的对话中 艾德和说 欧盟是中国最大的贸易伙伴 对中国输出的先进技术促进了中国发展 两江新区建设速度很快 如果能承接更多欧盟国家的先进技术 对两江新区和欧盟国家而言将实现共赢。

“我们看到重庆的雄伟蓝图 对你们的宏伟抱负印象深刻。回到北京以后 我会联系组织一个正式的代表团来重庆进行细节上的谈判。欧盟也会在高科技方面为重庆提供巨大的帮助 重庆的崛起将对欧盟乃至整个世界带来巨大的作用。”

另一个让艾德和团长感受颇深的项目是民心佳园公租房 宽敞的小区周边栽种了桂花、银杏、竹子、红枫等生机勃勃的绿色植物 四周林立的高层电梯房有致地排列着 设备齐全 布置温馨的样板房让各位使节赞叹不已。艾德和团长十分欣赏重庆政府的这一民心工程 认为这是非常重要的一步。

匈牙利驻华大使 库绍伊·山多尔看好两江新区 全面加强交流合作

在两天的参观访问中 匈牙利驻华大使山多尔先生对参观的每一处地方都充满了浓厚的兴趣 每到一处他都会仔细地询问工作人员 以得到一个完整的重庆发展图。“我到过重庆很多次了 也到过深圳、浦东和滨海 在那里见识了中国开发区的发展速度 这次来到两江新区 感到新区的开发速度比之前看到的更加迅速。在这里我看到了重庆未来的成功 也相信它的未来会更好。”

作为中国发展非常快、非常好的一个城市 重庆对欧盟国家有着极大的吸引力。尤其是重庆地处中国西部内陆 却能快速崛起 “对你们成功的秘诀 我们充满好奇 渴望了解” 言语间 山多尔大使也非常激动“此次重庆之行 所见所闻 令人振奋。重庆的发展不仅有速度 还有很高的质量 不仅有良好的经济指标还有越来越好的发展环境。我希望继续深入了解重庆的发展情况 全面加强与重庆的交流与合作 共同分享发展的经验和机遇。”

爱尔兰驻华大使 戴克澜“最喜欢重庆的传统文化”

在重庆湖广会馆 看着建筑群雕梁画栋、涂朱鎏金 爱尔兰驻华大使戴克澜先生及其夫人克莱赫女士目不暇接地一边参看 一边用相机不停地拍摄。“我很喜欢这里 我们对重庆不少传统的东西很感兴趣。”谈及三峡博物馆 戴克澜先生还特别提到自己的太太在1979年到过三峡 看到馆内展示的弹棉花工具克莱赫夫人义务为使节们当起了讲解员 详细介绍这些工具的作用 以及如何操作。

30多年以后再次来到重庆参观三峡博物馆 感觉很特别。“我和我太太很喜欢重庆 这次来就是为了感受这里的文化氛围。这里有古代和现代的结合 以前的重庆到处是平房 现在都是高楼 发展太快了。”

爱沙尼亚驻华大使 安德瑞斯·翁卡“加强IT与教育行业的合作交流”

身材高大、蓝眼睛 身着白色衬衫和西裤 戴着一副金属框架眼镜 颇有学者风度 这就是爱沙尼亚驻华大使翁卡先生。

“初次来重庆 却又感觉非常亲近 这是一座充满生机的城市。”翁卡先生对重庆也有很多建议和想法。“如今在我的国家 IT产业会是我们重点关注的产业。e-Government 电子政府 已成为政府办公的重要工具。我们可以通过电脑系统与人民进行交流 这也让政府办公更透明化 让每位人民与政府更亲近。”

“10年前我们开始推行使用电子卡 这样一张卡片就是你的一个身份证明 所有的个人信息都记录在卡上 你可以用于银行系统、出外停车、甚至作为护照自由出行于欧盟各国 非常方便快捷。”翁卡表示 像这样的高科技技术爱沙尼亚会很愿意与重庆分享 当得知重庆如今也有通过手机支付购买时 他很高兴 “这是一个良好开端 我们可以在这个领域寻求更多的合作机会。”

同时 翁卡大使还表示教育也很重要。他说 现在大约有150名中国学生在爱沙尼亚留学 其中以音乐专业居多。爱沙尼亚从1869年开始每年都会举行音乐节翁卡先生激动地告诉记者 “今年我们会有中国的留学生在音乐节上自告奋勇用爱沙尼亚语演唱 一定会很精彩。”

卢森堡驻华大使 柯意赫公租房意义巨大 将努力推动货运直航

柯意赫大使来过重庆两次了。“这次来看到了很多前两次没有看到过的东西 重庆的建筑工地很多。”柯意赫说 “我看到了重庆的变化 卢森堡也很有兴趣参与到重庆的快速发展中来。”

与其他使节们一样 柯意赫先生也对重庆的公租房很感兴趣 他告诉记者 在卢森堡也有这样类似的体制 不管在哪个国家 哪座城市 类似公租房这样的工程都是为低收入人群提供居住保障 其初衷都是一样的。当问到有什么不同时 他也开了个小玩笑 “除了一点不同 就是我们的国家要小很多。”

对卢森堡 大家最关心的就是重庆到卢森堡何时开通货运直航。柯意赫坦率地说 “究竟何时能开通 我的确不知道。目前关于开通重庆到卢森堡的货运直航问题 还有很多环节需要处理 我作为卢森堡驻华大使 将尽力推动 以期尽快开通。”

柯意赫说 卢森堡是欧洲的物流枢纽 如果开通重庆到卢森堡的货运直航 重庆不少高科技产品、附加值高的产品 就可以通过卢森堡运到欧盟各国。

保加利亚驻华大使 格奥尔基·佩伊奇诺夫“重庆的三张名片吸引了我”

继去年之后再次来到重庆 保加利亚驻华大使佩伊奇诺夫先生对这座城市显得格外亲切 见到记者 他便打趣地说 “重庆还是这么热啊 人们总是这么热情。” 佩伊奇诺夫先生表示非常喜欢来重庆 因为重庆的三张名片美景、美食和美女吸引了他 “这座城市让人留恋” 佩伊奇诺夫先生意味深长地说。

希腊驻华大使 塞德罗斯·耶奥卡凯罗斯用相机记录重庆

在与使节团们随行采访的过程中 记者注意到有位慈祥可亲的大使总是走在队伍的最后面 他喜欢拿着相机 四处拍照。仔细认真地拍下参观的每个地方 用相机记录下这些正在变化着的地方。他也会很礼貌 友好地向记者展示他的摄影成果 并笑称自己是团队里的专业摄影师 为大家提供拍照服务的。“回去以后 我可以用照片告诉我的同事朋友们重庆的变化有多大 重庆正在发生的变化有哪些。”说完他又开始“咔嚓咔嚓”地拍起来。

斯洛文尼亚驻华大使 玛丽娅·阿达尼娅重庆的绿化令人称赞

作为代表团里唯一一位女性大使 阿达尼娅女士自然引起了记者的注意。身着鹅黄色西装 黑色西裤的她在代表团里十分显眼 非常大方得体。见到记者 她还谦虚地表示 目前已经有22位女性大使在北京工作。“所以我不是唯一的一位”。虽然是第一次来重庆 阿达尼娅女士却对这座城市有特别的感受 “重庆让我印象最深的地方是它的绿化很好 树特别多 在城市街头漫步 看到四周都是茂盛的花草树木 让人感觉很愉悦。”

阿达尼娅女士告诉记者 自己很喜欢三峡博物馆 在这里了解到了重庆的过去和现在 同时盛赞公租房 “斯洛文尼亚在获得独立前也曾有类似的公租房 现在我们也有便宜的房子出租给人民 他们也可以购买 这一点和重庆的公租房还是很相似的。重庆的公租房很棒 这是提高人民生活质量的一个大的跨越 我更期待双方在未来加强投资合作。”

瑞典驻华大使总爱捧着字典学习中文 走到哪学到哪

斯洛伐克驻华大使弗兰季谢克·德霍波切克“重庆正在全球化 机遇会更多”

因为从来没有来过重庆 斯洛伐克驻华大使德霍波切克先生对这里的一切都感到很惊奇。坐在两江游的轮船上 欣赏着重庆独有的美丽夜景 星星点点的灯光把整个城市妆点得更加多彩。在江风的吹拂下 德霍波切克先生与记者进行了简短的交谈。

“你知道吗 昨天晚上在江北嘴大剧院的时候 我已经从江这边看到了重庆夜景的一部分 当时就觉得不可思议。重庆是一座美丽的城市 是与世界对外通连的窗口。虽然是内陆城市 但这里正经历着巨大的发展 正在全球化 这是一座开放的城市 目前我们国家虽然与重庆的合作不多 但我希望将来带来更多的公司来这里发展。”作为大使 德霍波切克先生希望把斯洛伐克在中国的工作做的更好 无论是外交还是其他领域。

同时他也不忘为重庆的朋友推介一下自己的国家 “斯洛伐克是欧洲的一个小国家 也是欧盟的成员国之一 欢迎重庆的朋友到斯洛伐克驻华使馆了解更多关于斯洛伐克的消息 我们非常欢迎同中国 同重庆的企业合作 也希望与中国在科技、文化等方面加强交流。”

瑞典驻华大使 罗睿德酷爱中文 与重庆共同参与可持续发展

高高的个子 文质彬彬 总是捧着一本英汉大字典这是记者对这位驻华大使的第一印象。和罗睿德大使的第一次对话是从他向我“请教”“枢纽”这个词开始的。罗睿德给记者的感觉是 中文很棒 性格很直率 说话很爽快。当我告诉他如何发“枢”这个音时 他还出乎意料地指出我的发音错误 让我不知所措。小小的插曲后 大使仍然很亲切地告诉我他的中国故事。

罗睿德来中国前前后后不下十次 重庆已有多次。去年9月上任瑞典驻华大使之后 他还是第一次以大使身份来重庆。说起重庆 罗睿德再熟悉不过了 他用流利的中文告诉记者 “重庆是中国西部的增长极 是一个非常有活力的城市。”罗睿德说 之所以这么说 其中一个重要原因 是因为重庆的人。

“重庆人有一种特别的气质 很自信、很骄傲。”罗睿德解释 这个“骄傲” 并不是一个贬义词 而是赞赏重庆人以自己生活的城市为荣 并且热爱着这个城市。此次来渝 罗睿德还为重庆带来了一件礼物——今年6月底 重庆和瑞典将再次合作 瑞典提供技术支持的餐厨垃圾处理工程 二期将在重庆动工。

欧盟国家驻华使节代表对存放在三峡博物馆内的洋行保险柜感兴趣

罗睿德说 普拉克公司和环卫集团合作的餐厨垃圾处理二期工程 将在6月底正式动工建设。“二期建成之后 重庆将是中国乃至世界上 餐厨垃圾处理规模最大、技术最先进的一个城市。”罗睿德说。

除了参与重庆的环保事业 瑞典的企业还积极参与重庆的城市设计。罗睿德表示 两江新区不但重视产业 还重视人与城市的可持续发展 这种科学发展的理念将获得许多欧洲国家的支持和赞同。重庆两江新区的成立为重庆和瑞典之间带来更多的合作可能 而可持续发展是对中国 对欧盟的巨大挑战 他希望能在未来的发展中得到解决 瑞典政府将支持这一发展计划 与中国一同实现这个目标。这对欧洲和中国来说是一个双赢的局面。

西班牙驻华大使欧亨尼奥·布雷格拉特要向更多西班牙企业推介重庆

提到重庆 西班牙驻华大使布雷格拉特先生并不陌生 他在1985年时来过一次重庆 当时的目的是从重庆坐船到武汉 游览三峡。回想第一次来重庆的直观感受是 重庆的石梯很多 整个城市比较旧 经济发展还比较落后。而这次来重庆 布雷格拉特从解放碑到三峡博物馆、再到江北嘴 沿途看到的 是一个“日新月异的城市”。特别是在参观江北嘴时 布雷格拉特表示看到了重庆的规划 同时也看到了重庆的美好未来 他会考虑带西班牙的经贸团来重庆考察 到重庆发展 涉及的行业包括高科技、能源、工业、旅游等方面。

布雷格拉特还透露 今年十月会在西班牙的巴塞罗那举办一个“中国——地中海峰会” “到时我将在会上帮助重庆向西班牙各方进行推介。重庆有良好的地理位置 应该让更多的西班牙人民了解这个城市。”

历时三年的“德中同行” 在2010年上海世博会上举办丰富多彩的活动 展出独具特色的“德中同行之家” 并完美落下帷幕。谈到这个德中友好合作活动 德国驻华公使柯殷先生非常激动 “德国和中国的交流一直都在进行 ‘德中同行’增进了德中双方的相互理解与信任 为长期成功合作奠定基础 开拓德中合作新领域 双方间的交流已经非常丰富。

谈到与重庆的渊源 柯殷先生似乎有说不完的话 “其实今年4月份我已经来过重庆了 当时是来参加德国巴斯夫公司在长寿建厂的奠基仪式。” 柯殷先生表示 现在德国与重庆的经贸合作越来越多 已经有很多德国公司来到重庆发展 德意志银行重庆分行也于今年4月28日开业 这也是德意志银行在重庆这一充满活力 蓬勃发展的地区的第一家支行。柯殷先生强调 中国对世界经济的不断增长具有重要意义 今后他也会带更多的德国公司来重庆。

爱沙尼亚驻华大使亲身感受公租房

奥地利驻华公使 施泰纳“奥地利企业希望与两江新区开展更多合作”

2011年3月 欧洲最大印刷电路板生产商——奥地利奥特斯集团落户重庆。奥地利奥特斯集团投资6亿美元 在两江新区生产高端印刷电路板 这也是奥地利在华一次性投资最大的产业项目。

在促成该项目落户的过程中 奥地利驻华公使施泰纳先生也亲身感受到了两江新区的机遇和服务 奥地利企业希望能与两江新区开展更多合作。“很感谢重庆政府的支持使我们完成了这次巨大的投资。我们之前也考察过其他城市 但最终认为重庆是最好的选择。”在与翁杰明的交流中 施泰纳也表示希望对重庆作为低碳试点城市的相关措施有更多地了解。

6月11日是全国第六个文化遗产日 大足石刻迎来了一批尊贵的客人 欧盟13个国家的驻华使节前来参观宝顶石刻。精美的石刻、深厚的文化积淀、至善至美的人文精神 给外国友人们留下了深刻的印象。

当天的参观活动中 从“宝顶山”石壁题记开始 具有浓郁乡土气息的“牧牛图”更是深深吸引了客人们的目光 巧妙运用以牛比心 以牧人喻修行者 大使们连连称赞中国古代匠师们的大智慧。

“华严三圣”中手托800斤石塔历经数百年不倒、88平方米崖面上金碧辉煌的“千手观音”造像、凝聚中国传统“孝”文化精髓的“父母恩重经变相”造像……大足石刻带给客人们太多太多惊奇。大使们纷纷在卧佛前合影留念 在这座世界最大的卧佛的注视下 留下了他们美好旅程的美好记忆。

整个参观过程在轻松愉快中结束 大使们都饶有兴致地留言 盛赞大足石刻。

卢森堡驻华大使柯意赫留下了对大足石刻的美好祝愿 “祝贺你们将这个历史遗迹完好保存”。

保加利亚驻华大使格奥尔基·佩伊奇诺夫即兴写下 “大足不得不来” 六个中文大字 更是表达了驻华使节们的心声 博得了随行人员以及普通游客的热烈掌声。

团长艾德和对大足石刻的保护工作非常赞赏 同时对中国在保护文化遗产方面所作出的努力给予了非常高的评价。艾德和还说 “大足石刻值得更多的欧洲人前来访问和参观 也希望我们的这次访问能帮助更多的欧洲人来访”。

匈牙利驻华大使库绍伊·山多尔先生指出 “非常感谢重庆和大足的热情款待 各国大使都应该努力推动自己国家与重庆的经贸合作与友好交流”。

大足县长周波在致辞中说 “‘海内存知己 天涯若比邻’。我们愿以‘知己’的赤忱紧握朋友们热情的双手 让世界更了解大足 让朋友们与大足永远心手相牵。”他希望各位朋友多宣传、推介大足石刻这一全人类共同拥有的世界文化遗产。

Chongqing Embraces Europe with Open Arms

At the invitation of the Chongqing Municipal Government, an EU delegation visited Chongqing from June 9th to June 11th to know better about Chongqing,its status quo, its role in the Western China Development Program and its strategy for the largest central city on the upper reaches of the Yangtze. It is the first time ever for Chongqing to receive such distinguished delegation composed of Mr. and Mrs.Ambassadors and other guests from 13 countries including Hungary, Ireland, Estonia, Luxembourg,Bulgaria, Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden, Spain,Germany, Austria and France.

Despite the tight schedule, all delegates are thrilled by what they have learned from this trip. “It is a very fruitful visit. Definitely, I want to do it again.”During the two-day visit, they visited museums, scenic spots and projects, appreciating the history, custom and future plan of a booming Chongqing. They met Mr.Bo Xilai, Party Secretary of Chongqing and other top local officials, having in-depths discussions on things of mutual concerns. They all speak highly of what Chongqing have scored and have high expectations on its future, praising Chongqing as China's New Tomorrowland.

H.E. Mr Markus Ederer Head of the EU Delegation to China

“The Rise of Chongqing Is Bound to Impact the European Union and the World at Large.”Everything in China is new and interesting to Markus Ederer who took the office in this January. This is also his first visit to Chongqing. “I don't have an exact word to describe my feelings about Chongqing.Maybe 'impressive' can do the trick. Chongqing is a city radiating both modern vitality and ancient glory, where the Huguang Guildhall and the Three Gorges Museum display the great sweep of Chongqing, one with a glorious past.”It is his hope that this visit can pave the way for future cooperation between the EU and Chongqing.“Since Chongqing is setting great store on environmental protection, we would like to deepen our dialogue on bilateral cooperation in green economy.”In the meeting with Wen Jieming, director of Management Commission of the Liangjiang New Area,Mr Ederer noted that the EU is the largest trading partner of China, helping China's breathtaking economic development. The CQLJ had been seeing fast economic development and more inflow of EU's advanced technologies would do good to both the CQLJ and EU members, he added.“We are truly impressed by Chongqing's ambition.I will send a formal delegation to Chongqing for detailed discussions when I am back to Beijing. The EU could be a great helper for Chongqing's hi-technology and I am convinced that the rise of Chongqing is bound to impact the European Union and the world at large.”

Great Expectations on the CQLJ Enhance Cooperation in an All Round Way

During the two-day visit, Mr Sándor Kusai showed great interests in everywhere he went, asking the working staff in charge of it and trying to picking up the pieces of Chongqing's blueprint. “I came here several times before. I've also been to Shenzhen, Pudong and Binhai where I witness the breathtaking economic development. Here I am, in the Two River's New Zone where I see a better-than-expected growth. Here I see the future of Chongqing and I have every confidence in that. ”

“We are curious about and eager to learn what is behind its success.” He reckoned, “What I saw and heard here is encouraging. The fast economic growth is well matched by its good quality. Not only the indicators of economic performance but also the development environment is on the half way to perfection. We are delighted to see all you have achieved. I hope I can have more chances to know Chongqing, so that we can share experience, opportunities and strengthen cooperation in environment, logistics, science and technology,education, shipping, tourism, urbanization egovernment, you name it.”

“I Am Loving Chongqing's Traditional Culture!”

When visiting the Huguang Guildhall, Mr and Mrs Kelleher were excited about architectures, painted beams and carved girders. They recorded all of them along the way. “I love here, and we both are hooked on Chongqing's traditional culture.”

Speaking of the Three Gorges Museum, Mr Kelleher said his wife had been there before in 1979. While in the Three Gorges Museum, Mrs Kelleher volunteered to be the guide, explaining the Cotton-Fluffing Machine -how it works and what function is.

It has been 30 years since her last visit, so everything here is both old and new to her. “My wife and I are big fans of Chongqing. We came here for refreshing our memory and experiencing cultures and custom. Towering blocks and glittering skyscrapers spring up across the city where bungalows once stood.It's amazing to see such rapid development.”

H.E. Mr Andres Unga Estonian Ambassador to China

“Step up Our Cooperation in IT and Education”

A tall and scholarly man in a white shirt and black trousers is Estonian Ambassador Andres Unga. “It's my first time here, but I still feel much at home. It is a magnificent city.” Mr Unga has many suggestions and ideas for Chongqing's development. “IT industry is one of pillar sectors in my country. One of our tools governing the country is e-Government through which we can communicate with citizens, thus we can be more transparent and people-oriented.”

“Ten years ago, we carried out the e-card system across Estonia. This particular e-card, like your ID card,incorporates all your personal information, which can be used in banking system, the parking lot, even for travelling in the EU as a passport. Very convenient.” Mr Unga said Estonia stood ready to share those technologies with Chongqing. When told that Chongqing has a similar technology, he was very happy, “That's a very good start. We shall work together on that.”

Mr Unga emphasized the importance of education,telling us that 150 or more Chinese students now, most majoring in musicology, were studying in Estonia which had held a musical festival annually since 1869. “This year, we will see Chinese students singing in Estonian there. It would be hilarious!” he said with a big smile.

The Significance of the Social Housing System Promote the Non-stop Cargo Freight

Ambassador Carlo visited Chongqing twice before.“I see a lot of things I haven't seen before. You can see construction sites everywhere.” He said, “We hope to'thumb the ride' of Chongqing's fast economic development.”

Mr Carlo like other delegates showed great interests in the social housing project. He told us that his country has a similar social housing system, which of its kind, wherever it is, aims to protect the interests of low-income people, providing home to them. When asked the difference of those two, he said with a big smile, “Only one thing is different that we are much smaller.”

What concerns most people is when the non-stop cargo freight between Chongqing and Luxembourg can be opened. He said very frankly, “As for the time, I don't know, really. We still have lots of things to deal with in this regard. I, as the Luxemburg ambassador,will spare no efforts to bring it open at an early date.”

He said if the cargo route was open, hi-tech and highly value-added products manufactured in Chongqing could have access to every member of the EU through Luxembourg, the logistic hub in Europe.

“Chongqing's Three Trump Cards Attract Me Here.”

This is the second trip to Chongqing for Mr Peychinov who is bonded with this city. At moment seeing journalists, he joked, “Wow, it is still hot here.People here are always hospitable.” Mr Peychinov loves Chongqing for its three trump cards -picturesque scenery, yummy food and gorgeous ladies. “It is a place that will live in your heart for good.”

Chongqing Impression Framed in Pictures

We noticed during the visit that an amiable ambassador had been always in the back of the procession, taking photos around. He used his camera to record every bit of changes he'd noticed along the way and showed his “achievement” to us, kidding “I am the professional photographer in my delegation. I serve all of them.” “Back home, I will show these photos to my colleagues, letting them know what changes Chongqing is experiencing and how great they are!”Then, he did his own thing, snapping Chongqing.

Impressive Greenery in Chongqing

It is natural that Mrs Adanja, the only female ambassador in the delegation, caught our eyes at first sight. With yellowish clothes on top and black trousers and being elegant in manner, she shined in the delegation. As humbled as she's been always, Mrs Adanja said she is “not the only female ambassador”for totaling 22 female ambassadors working in Beijing.She felt strongly about this city in spite of her first acquaintance. “What impresses me most is the greenery here. With green trees and flourish flowers, it would be delightful to take a walk around.”

Mrs Adanja told us she liked the Three Gorges Museum from which she knew more about the past and present of Chongqing. She also appraised highly the social housing project, “Chongqing Government is doing great in the social housing project, a great leap forward for people's wellbeing. I am looking forward stronger investment cooperation between us.”

H.E. Mr Frantisek Dlhopolcek Slovak Ambassador to China

“As Integrating Itself into the World, Chongqing Will Have More Opportunities.”

Mr Frantisek Dlhopolcek was amazed about everything he saw here because he had never been here before. We had a short but delightful conversation when we were in the ship-touring along two rivers (the Yangtze River and the Jialin River), appreciating the night scene of Chongqing dotted by innumerable sparkling lights.

“You know what, I was astonished to see part of the wonderful night scene of Chongqing from the Chongqing Grand Theatre yesterday. Chongqing is a beautiful city, a gateway to the vast Western China. Despite being an inland city, Chongqing is undergoing profound changes by fully integrating into the world and throwing its door wide open. It is my hope that we can see more Slovakian companies here.” He hoped to do a good job in China as the Slovakian ambassador, both politically and economically.

Love Mandarin Jointly with Chongqing to Contribute to Sustainable Development

A tall gentleman always with a Chinese-English dictionary in hand is the first impression of journalists to Ambassador Freden. My first conservation with him began with “Shu Niu” (hub), a word he asked me.What surprised me was he even pointed out the pronouncing mistake I had made when I taught him how to pronounce “Shu”. He is a straightforward man,speaking a superb Chinese. Later, he shared his Chinese stories with me.

He visited China for more than ten times. Since he inaugurated as Swedish ambassador in September,2009, this was his first visit to Chongqing in that capacity. Chongqing is no more a strange city to him who told us in a fluent Mandarin, “Chongqing, a dynamic and diversified city, is the economic powerhouse in Western China.” Chongqing locals play a part for his praise.

“People here have a unique personality, being proud and confident.” He explained, “Proud is not a derogatory word, rather it is a testimony that Chongqing people are proud of living here and deeply love this blessed city.”

This time he brought Chongqing a gift -Chongqing and Sweden will join hands to start the second phase of a garbage treatment system here sponsored by Sweden technologically this June.

He said the second phase of this project codeveloped by Swedish PURAC and Chongqing Environment & Sanitation Group would kick off this June. “After its completion, Chongqing will be a city with the largest and best garbage treatment system in China and even the world.”

“I Will Do My Utmost to Introduce Chongqing to Spain.”

Chongqing is not new to Ambassador Bregolat who came here in 1985 when he travelled to Wuhan by ship from Chongqing to see the Three Gorges. Chongqing,the very first time in his mind, was an underdeveloped city with lots of stone stairs, but this time, it seemed to take a U-turn. Chongqing is a dynamic and everdeveloping city in the evidence of Jiefangbei, the Three Gorges Museum and Jiangbeizui Financial Center.When informed of the plan of Chongqing, he foresaw the bright future of Chongqing, considering coming here again with an economic and trading delegation. He would like to see Spanish-based enterprises, such as hi-tech, energy, industry and tourism, have their solid presence here and help Chongqing-based enterprises invest in Spain.

Push the German-Chongqing Economic Cooperation and Trade

“Deutschland und China-Gemeinsam in Bewegung” (DuC), lasting for three years when more than one million citizens have participated in many exhibitions, forums and music festivals concluded successfully with various activities held in Shanghai World Expo 2010. Mr Ingo Karsten was excited about this Program-DuC. “Our exchanges have gone a long way. The DuC has enhanced mutual understanding and trust between our two peoples, paving the way for our future cooperation.

Mr Karsten has a lot to say about his bond with Chongqing. “I, actually, came here this April for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Changshou branch of the BASF.” As the closer business ties between China and Germany, Germany investors is swarming into Chongqing testified by the Deutsche Bank which opened its very first branch in Chongqing this April. He reckoned that he would bring more German investment here as Chongqing's economy became stronger and stronger.

“Austria-based Enterprises Hope to Have Closer Ties with the CQLJ”

AT&S, the largest manufacturer of printed circuit boards in Europe, kicked off its 600-million-dollor project in the CQLJ, its largest lump-sum investment in China, in March, 2011.

In the preparation of its launch, Mr. Christian Steiner was impressed by the opportunities and services provided by the CQLJ with which Austria-based enterprises hope to have closer ties. “We are grateful for the support given and everything done by the Chongqing Municipal Government. We shortlisted Chongqing in preference to other cities.” He also hoped to be better informed of the information on the Low-Carbon-City Pilot Program and anything related.
