International Children’s Day originated in Moscow in November 1949.It was celebrated to remember those children killed byGerman Nazis(纳粹)duringWorld War II.June 1stwas officially decided as International Children’s Day.But different countries celebrate it on different dates.

Children in Japan are very lucky because they get three Children’s Days.March 3 every year is Japanese Girl’s Day.Familieswith girlsdecorate(装饰)their houseswith colorful dolls towish a happy future for their daughters.

Boy’s Day falls on May 5 each year in Japan.Families with boys hang colorfulcarp(鲤鱼)kites outside their houses.Flying a carp kitesymbolizes(象征)each family’swish for their sons to be brave and strong.

November 15 is a day set for kids who are three,five and seven years old,because Japanese consider children in these ages are given the best luck.On this “753” children’s day,youngsters of the three ages carry paper bags on their back filled with candies and toys.Their parents bring them toshrines(神殿)topray(祈祷)for happiness and health.

International Children’s Day is coming.Wish all children to be happy,healthy and cheerful!
