The Yunnan Provincial State Land Resource Bureau has organized the provincial Geological Investigation Bureau and relevant institutions to kick off the “Yunnan Province 2009-2010 Mine Search Action Plan”, through the implementation of 4 year mine search action plan, it aims at making major breakthroughs in new geological mine search, exploring mineral resource deposits available for exploitation or reserve, and provide a batch of mineral production locations which can be used for the construction of mine resource supply base.
The exact targets finalized by the outline of“Yunnan Province 2009-2012 Mine Search Action Plan” are: Through prospecting, newly add Category (332) - Category (333) + Category(334) resource volume: 3 million tons of copper, 6 million tons of lead and zinc, 200 million tons of iron ore, 50 tons of gold, 2000 tons of silver, 200, 000 tons of tungsten, 50, 000 tons of tin, 100 million tons of bauxite, and 1 billion tons of coal; submit 15 newly discovered mining locations, 8 large or middle sized mineral resource bases which are available for in-depth survey or exploitation; within 4 years, a total of 1.8 billion yuan will be invested in geological mine search, in which the Central Government will allocate 400 million yuan, the local government will contribute 600 million yuan(mainly coming from the provincial prospecting fund), and the amount of invited social capital investment is about 800 million yuan.
According to news resources, Yunnan province will select key metallogenic zones or belts with promise to find breakthroughs in the search of mines in the near future inside the whole province. Guided by scientific research and survey on regional mineral prospects, and by combining multiple methods including geology, physical prospecting, chemical prospecting, remote sensing and mine prospecting engineering, and targeting at key mineral resources of copper(molybdenum), gold, lead and zinc, iron, tungsten, tin, antimony, bauxite, and coal which have rich reserve in Yunnan and are urgently needed by China’s industrial sectors, adhering to the overall guideline of conducting prospecting through fully equipped prospecting, accelerated prospecting, cooperative (coordinated)prospecting, it will make uniform planning and deployment for the mine search of key mineral resources in the whole province.
