关于may/m ight+have done结构的用法

may/might+have done结构主要用于以下两种情况：一表推敲；二表虚拟。

为了准确地记忆，可以编个口诀帮助大家轻松搞定：

“表现在表将来，情态动词+原形；

表过去表完成，情态动词+完成。

推敲语气分强弱，can-may-might和could；

虚拟中没有can,may和must.”

下面让我们来分解一下may/ might+have done及其类似结构的用法：

1.may/might+have done:

(1)可用来表对过去时/完成时的推敲，主要用于肯定句和否定句，但不用于疑问句中。表推敲时，语气是最弱的，意思是“（当时）或许/也许已经做了”。其中may/might在此结构中无时态的区别，用might表示的可能性比may小，语气较委婉。

(2)might+have done还可表虚拟，常用于肯定句中，表示“过去本来可能发生而实际未发生。”（注意：may+have done无此用法。）

[解析]答案：D.因为这里表示过去（昨天）发生的事情的推敲，故应用“情态动词+完成”；根据上下文翻译，应表示“或许你把字典放错了地方”。

[对比：may/might+do表示对现在或将来的揣测。只有在宾语从句中might do(be)才表示过去可能性。

2.can/could+have done

(1)表对过去时/完成时的推敲，主要用于否定句和疑问句中，很少用于肯定句中。语气比may/might强，意思是“（当时）（很）可能已经做了”。在此结构中，can/could也没有时态的区别，用can表示推敲的可能性比could大一些。

（2）could+have done还可表虚拟，常用于肯定句中，表示“过去本能够做而实际未做。”：（注意：can+have done无此用法。）

3.must+have done：不用于表虚拟，只表对过去/完成的推敲。语气最强，意思是“（当时）一定做过；想必做过”。只用于肯定句，不用于疑问句和否定句中。此结构的否定式为can't+have done”

4.should/ought to+have done只用于表虚拟，意思是“过去本来应该做而实际未做”，常含有责备之意。可用于肯定句和否定句；还可以对已发生的事情表示惊讶，可译为“竟然”。

(2）I'm surprised that he should have been so foolish.我很惊讶他竟然这么傻。

5.needn't+have done只能用于否定句中，只用于表虚拟，意思是“过去本来不必做而已经做了”，不含批评、责备之意。

eg.I don't know why you've come into work on your day off.We can cope with the problem.You needn't have come.

6.daren't+have done只表虚拟，意思是“过去本不敢做而实际做了”。

eg.The poor boy daren't have stolen the bread from the grocery,but he was so hungry.

7.would+have done只表虚拟，意思是“过去原本打算将做而实际并未做到”。

eg.I would have shown you how to deal with the matter,but why didn't you ask me?

对比：would+do用于表虚拟或科幻作品中，表示对现在或将来的推想，如：

Such would be our home in the future.我们未来的家庭就是这样。
