Language Services Blue Book Boosts Innovation and Cooperation in International Communication

On December 12, during the 12th China Corporate Global Image Summit Forum, China International Book Trading Corporation (CIBTC), in collaboration with Beijing Language and Culture University and other partners, jointly released the Report on the Development of Language Services in China (2024) (Language Services Blue Book) in ten languages, including Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and Korean. This release was one of the three significant achievements announced at the forum.

The Language Services Blue Book is the first comprehensive summary and presentation of the development and achievements of China’s language services sector in a blue book format, following the introduction of the “language services” concept globally. It provides valuable insights and references for institutions and professionals at home and abroad to systematically understand the current state and prospects of China’s language services industry. Published by Social Sciences Academic Press, the blue book features a foreword by Du Zhanyuan, director of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, and includes contributions from numerous experts, scholars, and practitioners. Its clear structure, in-depth analysis, and high reference value make it a significant guide for the industry.

Xie Gang, general manager of CIBTC, emphasized that as the convener of the Joint Mechanism for Language Services Export Bases, CIBTC actively mobilizes resources to provide language support for promoting more outstanding cultural products and services globally. Moving forward, the company aims to further expand the scope and scale of language service exports, drive innovative cooperation in the field of international communication, and enhance the role and contributions of language service export bases in trade in services and the global dissemination of Chinese culture.
