Nowadays, red tourism(红色旅游) is becoming more and more popular. There are many red scenic spots(旅游景点) around China. By visiting these places, we can learn the history of modern China. We can know about how the Communist Party of China(CPC,中国共产党) was born. We can also learn how Chinese people live a better life under the leadership(领导) of the CPC.
The Red Building is to the northeast(东北) of the Forbidden City(故宫) in Beijing. It became the library of Peking University(北京大学) in 1918.
Jinggang Mountain is the cradle(摇篮) of the Chinese revolution(革命). In October of 1927, Mao Zedong and the army(军队) came to Jinggang Mountain. They made the first Revolutionary Base Area(革命根据地) here.
At that time, Mao Zedong and Li Dazhao worked in this building. They studied Marxism(马克思主义) here. It’s the starting place of the May Fourth Movement(五四运动).
Jinggang Mountain is in the southwest(西南) of Jiangxi. It’s very steep(陡峭的). There are waterfalls(瀑布), forests and hot springs(温泉) there. The best time to visit Jinggang mountain is in April and May. There will be beautiful azaleas(杜鹃花).
Xibaipo is a village in Hebei. In May of 1948, the headquarters(总部) of the CPC moved here. Mao and other leaders gave orders(命令) to the army here. They commanded(指挥) many campaigns(战役), such as Liaoshen, Huaihai and Pingjin campaigns(辽沈战役、淮海战役、平津战役).
Chairman Mao(毛主席) also hosted(主持) an important meeting in Xibaipo. In the meeting, the Party decided to move their focus(重点) from the rural(农村) areas to the cities. They also made many important decisions(决定) for the New China.
