It was very late at night when Bill got off the train.

比尔下火车时已经很晚了。

He was tired and wanted to find a hotel. He looked aroundand saw a building. It was the nearest hotel， so Bill went in andasked the man behind the front desk， “How much is a single roomeach night， please？”

他很累，想找一家旅馆休息。他环顾四周，看到了一栋建筑。这是最近的一家旅馆，比尔走了进去，问前台接待：“请问这里一个单间一晚多少钱？”

“Well， sir，” said the man， “asingle room on the first floor is$50 a night， on the second floor is$40 and on the third floor is $30.”

Bill picked up his bags andturned to the door.

“Dont you think our prices arereasonable？” the man behind the front deskasked.

“Yes，” said Bill， “your prices arereasonable， but Im afraid the building ofyour hotel is not high enough.”
