Remember me when I am gone away，

Gone far away into the silent land;

When you can no more hold me by the hand，

Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.

Remember me when no more day by day

You tell me of our future that you planned：

Only remember me; you understand

It will be late to counsel then or pray.

Yet if you should forget me for a while

And afterwards remember， do not grieve：

For if the darkness and corruption leave

A vestige of the thoughts that once I had，

Better by far you should forget and smile

Than that you should remember and be sad.

克里斯蒂娜·罗塞蒂（Christina Rossetti，1830 —1894），在题材范围和作品质量方面均为最重要的英国女诗人之一。罗塞蒂的主要作品集有《妖魔集市》（1862）、《王子的历程》（1866）、《赛会》（1881）。她还出版了童谣集《唱歌》（1872）、儿童故事集《会说话的画像》（1874），但最负盛名的还是她的诗歌創作。她的诗歌有时在语调上非常多愁善感，但在形式和遣词造句方面却又十分严谨。她的不少诗歌还很有幽默感，这使得她的多愁善感适度，并使矛盾趋于平衡。
