IS IT A KIND OF GRASS？

Yes！ Rice is a kind of grass that people cultivate（耕种） to produce（生产） food.

WHERE IS IT FROM？

Rice grass originally（起初） grew in Australia， but it was the Chinese who started planting it as a crop（庄稼）.

I.LISTENING

Listen to the descriptions（描述） of rice dishes from around the world and write the first letter of the dishes in the circle（圓圈）.

Ⅱ. DESIGNING

Now that you know there are many types of rice， can you imagine a new variety（种类）？ What does your new kind of rice look like？ Color the bowl of rice to match（相配） your idea.

RICE SOLUTIONS

If your mum or dad drops their phone into water， tell them you know a way to help！ Place the phone into a bag or bucket（桶） of dry rice， and let sit for one or two days（静置一两天）. Then pull out the phone， and try to turn it on！

RICE HOT COMPRESS

All you need is a clean sock and uncooked rice. Fill the sock with the rice. Next， tie（系） the end of the sock， so the rice doesnt fall out. Finally， put the sock in a microwave and heat it for 30 seconds. When you pull it out， it will be warm or hot and be a great hot compress（热敷） for Mum or Dad.

RICE ARTWORK

Sometimes white rice is placed in a bucket with dye（染料） to make different kinds of colored rice. Rice can be used to create（创造） beautiful artwork（艺术品）.

RUST PREVENTION

You can keep tools（工具） from rusting（生锈） by adding some dry rice to your toolbox（工具箱）. The rice will absorb（吸收） moisture（湿气） in the air， helping to keep your tools dry and rust-free（不生锈的）.
