Liang Pengcheng:Green growth and digital transformation make the textile sector smart and upgrade

ITMA ASIA+CITME exhibition is the first global textile machinery exhibition held in China in the post—pandemic,and it is also the first Asian joint exhibition after ITMA 2023.ITMA ASIA+CITME 2022 carries too many expectations of exhibi—tors and visitors.What are the highlights of this joint exhibi—tion? To this end,we interviewed Liang Pengcheng,executive vice president of the Sub—Council of Textile Industry,China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT TEX)and vice chairman and general manager of Beijing Textile Ma—chinery International Exhibition Co.,Ltd.

Focus on green growth Digitalization is reinventing the textile industry

CHINA TEXTILE: Compared with the previous ITMA ASIA+CITME exhibition,what aspects do you think are the main differences of this exhibition?

Liang Pengcheng:In the past few years,the world has been greatly affected by the pandemic,and the manufactur—ing industry,including the textile and garment industry,has gone through a very difficult period,and the development of enterprises is facing great pressure.Since 2023,with the continuous release of policy dividends and other factors,the exhibition industry has achieved a full recovery,domestic ex—hibitions and overseas self—organized exhibitions have been revived,and the development of the industry has been effec—tively boosted.

The regular biennial sequence of the ITMA ASIA+CITME exhibition was disrupted due to the global COVID—19 pan—demic.Originally slated for 2022,the exhibition has been postponed to 2023.Both the number of exhibitors and the number of participating countries and regions have increased significantly compared with the previous session.Compared with the previous joint exhibition,the number of exhibitors has increased by 15%,and overseas exhibitors are close to 20%.Up to now,the number of exhibitors in this joint exhibi—tion is more than 1,500,and they are from Italy,Germany,Switzerland,Japan,South Korea,Belgium,India and other 24 countries and regions.The exhibition area is more than 160,000 square meters and occupies six exhibition halls of the National Exhibition and Convention Center,Shanghai.

Moreover,the leading European companies and the leading companies in the Asian market will bring their latest equipment exhibited at the ITMA 2023 in Milan in June this year to the ITMA ASIA+CITME exhibition in November.These advanced equipment and technology will certainly attract the attention of the domestic visitors,which is also a major at—traction of this joint exhibition.With the end of the pandemic,the date of the future ITMA ASIA+CITME exhibition will return to even years,and the exhibition in 2024 and 2026 will also be changed back to October.In this sense,this joint exhibition carries the important significance of the return and transition of the exhibition.

CHINA TEXTILE: What are the highlights and characteristics of the equipment and technology exhibited in ITMA ASIA+CITME 2022?

Liang Pengcheng:The technical highlights of ITMA ASIA+CITME 2022 are mainly reflected in: First,focusing on digital transformation.In today’s world,digital transformation is having an all—round and deep—seated impact on productivity and pro—duction relations.The exhibition equipment and solutions focus on the driving force of the “digital economy”,which will greatly promote the construction of digital technology facilities in the industry and accelerate the digitalization,intelligence and effi—cient iteration and upgrading of the industry.Second,focusing on green growth.Green growth and transformation and upgrading are inherent requirements for achieving sustainable development of the industry,and are also inevitable requirements for enhanc—ing the well—being of all mankind.Textile machinery enterprises implement the “carbon peak and neutrality” development goal,closely combine green transformation,and support the indus—try to accelerate the construction of the whole industrial chain ecosystem,the whole life cycle management system,and the recycling system.Third,focusing on crossover integration of emerging industries.The industrial high—quality development direction represented by electronic information,new display and cloud storage is accelerating its development and growth.Under the development of emerging industries,the textile and garment industry is accelerating the cultivation of new economic formats,new business models,and new market links.The concept and trend of integrated development with emerging industries,as well as the new changes presented by the new formats and new models forced by the consumer side to the equipment side,will also be presented in this exhibition.

Multiple measures,channels and approaches Supporting textile machinery enterprises trade exchange market expansion

CHINA TEXTILE: The domestic and foreign environment of the textile machinery sector is currently facing complexchanges.How can the joint exhibition better achieve the goal of helping textile machinery enterprises trade exchange and market expansion?

Liang Pengcheng:First,the exhibition brings high—quality and accurate professional visitors to textile machinery enterprises.High—quality professional visitors are the key to ensure that exhibitors expand the market.As the organizers of the exhibition,whether it is CCPIT TEX,the China Textile Machinery Association,or the CEMATEX,they have very pro—fessional and huge industry resources.I believe that this joint exhibition will be able to better help exhibitors to carry out trade exchanges and market expansion.

Second,the exhibition creates an efficient and pro—fessional business negotiation environment and display platform.Product category division is more scientific sub—division,a total of 19 product categories are displayed;it provides exhibitors with necessary electricity and water during the opening hours of the exhibition hall;the exhibi—tion booth is open to the maximum extent.Meanwhile,we set the timing switch demonstration time to ensure that the business negotiation environment is comfortable and efficient.

Third,we help exhibitors get more business oppor—tunities through event publicity.In the past two sessions of the joint exhibition,the organizer opened the “ITMA ASIA+CITME View” section through the official website,WeChat public platform,cooperative media and its own database,and promoted the various activities spon—taneously held by exhibitors at the exhibition site.The organizer will help exhibitors accurately match through the huge resources.
