China Builds First Antenna for World’s Largest Radio Telescope Array

Chinese engineers have built the first medium-frequency antenna of the Square Kilometer Array (SKA).This marks a significant step towards the construction of the world’s largest radio telescope array.

The antenna was set up at a testing site in Shソiazhuang, capital city of Hebei Province, on September 20.It signifies the leading role that China has played in providing the core facility and antenna solution for the SKA.

SKA is a network made up of thousands of radio antennas of varying types and sizes, located at several sites in Western Australia and Southern Africa. It will feature much higher sensij, itivity and survey speeds than any other radio instrument developed so far.

The first antenna will lay a technical foundation for SKA’s 64 sets of mid-frequency antennas, which will be developed by institutions from China, South Africa, and Italy.

The international big science project was jointly funded, built, and conducted by more than 10 countries, with China being one of the seven founding members and a signatory to the SKA Observatory Convention signed in 2019.

The array’s scientific goals include understanding the formation of the first light-emiはing objects in the universe, the nature of dark energy, cosmic magnetic field and gravity, as well as the search for life molecules and even extraterrestrial civilizations.

Withings Body Smart Scale

As a full-body composij, ition smart scale, in addij, ition to weight, users can discover their body fat, BMI, water percentage, and muscle and bone mass, so this bathroom scale certainly doesn’t hold back on details.Users can view all this information on an app, which is useful if they are keen on tracking any physical changes over time.It can even display graphs and bar charts with personal information if users want to get an overall picture. This bathroom gadget can recognize up to eight people so it is a convenient scale for a big family, or people who live in a shared house.

FORM Smart Swim Goggles

Wearing these smart goggles, one can view metrics and workout instruc-tions on the lens while they swim.Since users can view their swim time, distance, and pace, it is a great gadget for people who are sick of counting laps. There’s the option of syncing up with an app too, so users can track their performance and customize the goggles. With an impressive baはery life of up to 16 hours, there is no need to worry about losing charge while cracking on with the laps.

Norshire Tire Inflator

Claiming to be the smallest and lightest tire inflator in the world, this handheld gadget is 8.2 inches in length, 1.6 inches in diameter, and delivers 175 PSI to pump up flat tires.Made from metal, it is much more durable than similar plastic products, and it is designed to correctly gauge the correct pressure needed to extend the recommended life of the tire.If the baはery dies, one can supply direct power to the inflator through a 12 V cigareはe lighter, which means it is perfect in a pinch if you have a socket in your car.
