Chinese Embassy in Poland Hosts “Chinese Culture Day”Reception
The “Chinese Culture Day”reception was hosted by the Chinese embassy in Poland on June 26.Nearly 400 guests from China and Poland attended the event.
Sun Linjiang, the Chinese ambassador to Poland,said that China cherishes its friendship with Poland, and it stands ready to share the development opportunities brought by its modernization with Poland and cooperate in building a human community with a shared future.
In the exhibition titled“Journey into Chinese Culture,” the opening drum performance was both stunning and grand.Thetai chiperformances presented by the Wudang Tai Chi Kung Fu Troupe from Hubei Province of China received a long round of applause from the audience.And Chinese students studying in Poland performed melodious and lively songs likeJasmine FlowerandYouth Dance.
In the “Tea for Harmony — Yaji Cultural Salon,” tea masters from Fujian Province of China showcased the traditional Chinese tea-making techniques, related customs,and the rich connotations of tea culture to the guests.The audience also enjoyed participating in intangible cultural heritage activities like writing calligraphy, food carving,and embroidery displays.
Guests experienced Chinese culture and discussed issues connected with the Poland-China friendship.People present at the event expressed that the “Chinese Culture Day”was unique and splendid and they look forward to even closer cultural exchanges between Poland and China and their friendly cooperation of new heights.

WTA • Dialogue for China-Spain Tourism Cooperation Opens in Madrid
China and Spain are working to speed up the recovery of their respective tourism markets and promote further cultural exchanges, industry insiders said at “WTA• Dialogue for China-Spain Tourism Cooperation” held in Madrid on July 3, 2023.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Spain diplomatic relations, and also the China-Spain Culture and Tourism Year.
“China stands ready to work with Spain through this event to follow through on the important common understandings between the leaders of our two countries, expand tourism cooperation and personnel exchanges within the framework of bilateral,multilateral, and international tourism organizations such as the United Nations World Tourism Organization and the World Tourism Alliance, so as to promote the welfare of the Chinese and Spanish people,create new opportunities for tourism in both countries,and provide new sources of the world’s economic development,” Hu Heping, minister of culture and tourism of China,said in his video address.
“There is no doubt about the importance of emerging markets to Spain and Europe.As China is an important outbound travel market for Spain, we are also ready to work together with China to strengthen tourism ties between our two countries to create a brilliant future, making this year full of opportunities and outcomes,” Héctor Gómez, minister of industry,trade and tourism of Spain,said in his video address.
2023 Silk Road Week Opened in Hangzhou
The 2023 Silk Road Week opened at China National Silk Museum in Hangzhou,Zhejiang Province on July 12.This year’s Silk Road Week, the fourth edition of the event, is themed “The Silk Roads: Long Roads &Mutual Goals.”
The Silk Road Week was first launched at the museum in 2020, and annual week activities are hosted by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the Zhejiang provincial government.It has received strong support from UNESCO since its inception.
Over the past three years,each edition of the Silk Road Week has attracted more than 200 participating organizations and institutions from around the globe, and this year is no exception.
For this year’s event, Hungary is the Guest Country of Honor, an initiative introduced last year when the Republic of Uzbekistan became the first guest of honor.
Hungary, a key country along the Silk Road, has been instrumental in facilitating cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries and was the first European country to join the Belt and Road Initiative, which is entering its 10th year.
Among the many online and on-site activities taking place during the Silk Road Week, there is a main exhibition that kicked off on June 27.It showcases some 34 pieces of textiles and ornamental weapons dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries from the Esterhazy collection of Hungary’s Museum of Applied Arts and the China National Museum.The exhibition will run until August 21.
