Traditional Chinese Clothing 中国传统服饰

In China， when it comes to traditionalclothing， hanfu and qipao are the mostpopular. The Chinese tunic suit is also a kindof clothing that has been popular sincemodern times.

Hanfu was created for Han people in thebeginning. Its color， its style and even thelength are about Chinese culture. Hanfu firstappeared in the Shang Dynasty， over 3，000years ago. It was popular for a long time inChinese history from the Qin Dynasty to theMing Dynasty. At the beginning of the QingDynasty， however， it lost its popularity. Withpeople turning their interest to traditionalculture， hanfu has been enjoyed more greatlyin recent years.

说到中国传统服饰，汉服和旗袍是最受欢迎的。中山装也是近代以来受大家喜欢的一种服饰。

汉服最初是汉民族穿的衣服。它的颜色、样式甚至长度都与中国文化有关。汉服最早出现于3000 多年前的商朝，从秦朝到明朝，汉服是人们的日常服饰。清朝初期，汉服开始没落。近年来，传统文化受到人们的青睐，“汉服热”在各地兴起。

旗袍流行于20 世纪20 年代，其后的30 年间，它都被认定为“国服”。最初的旗袍宽大、平直，基本上遮住了整个身体，穿起来并不好看。人们想要一种更好看的服饰，因此在20 世纪30 年代，有人改良了旗袍，将旗袍做得修身，以展示女子的曲线美。现在，很多女子仍然喜欢穿旗袍。

中山装穿着简便，看起来美观大方，因此在20 世纪中叶迅速流行起来。尽管现在的中国男子更喜欢穿其他类型的服饰，但中国领导人出席重要活动时，仍会穿中山装。

Qipao became popular in the 1920s andremained as the “national clothing” until the1950s. At first， people made it wide， coveringmost parts of the body. Yet it was notbeautiful and people wanted a more beautifulkind of clothing. So in the 1930s， peoplemade the traditional qipao tight to show thebeauty of a womans body. Now， lots ofwomen still like to wear it.

The Chinese tunic suit looked simple butgood， so it quickly became popular amongChinese men in the mid-20th century.Although other kinds of clothing have takenits place now， leaders of China still wear itwhen going to important events.
