巴兹坦山谷是西班牙纳瓦拉自治区北部的一个聚居地,它与法国接壤,自然条件优越,被群山环绕,由数个小村庄组成。
一座古老而著名的学校建筑被拆除,为推动山谷的经济发展留出了一片空地。空地上的首个新项目是由一家工程公司带来的方案,它过于呆板和僵硬,导致一些当地居民开始担心药丸工厂可能会带来的影响。因此,本项目要求设计协调建筑体量与周围环境间的关系。
因此,该项目被设想为对建筑体量和周围环境之间关系的映射。山谷里的建筑通常是“caseríos”,一种纳瓦拉北部有着斜屋顶的小型建筑,这也是当地村庄的独特形象。周边长久存在的、如波浪般起伏的山脉景观也非常重要。综合这些元素的成果是一次聚合屋顶的实践,作为对新建建筑的阐释,这有助于建设一个能够连接传统和自然的建筑体量。
项目的内部空间服从于从工业流程中得出的功能要求。该项目优化了方法、体量和流线,使建筑具有最大的灵活性并适应生产过程。
在结构上,该项目采用了简单的钢结构和单一的镀层板材料,波纹钢板构成了立面和屋顶,塑造了一种条纹的形象,这在概念上让人想起在这个纬度常见的一些条状木材构成的老建筑,随着时间的流逝,其颜色会逐渐变深。□(安东尼奥·拜略文,潘奕 译)
The Baztan valley is a settlement in the north of Navarre,borders with French,naturally privileged,surrounded by mountains and composed of little villages.
The demolition of an old and famous school building,leaved an empty space for the promotion of economic development of the valley.The first building in the site generated some concern in the population for the possible impact that a pharmaceutical candy factory could have– the first project presented by an engineering firm was too rigid and hard.The order comes as a request of solving the relationship between the volume and its surroundings
The project,therefore,is conceived as a reflexion about the relationship between the volume and its surroundings.Commonly,the valley buildings are "caseríos" – traditional houses built in the north of Navarre– little constructions of slopped rooftops,that in addition generates the particularly image of the villages.The permanent presence of the surroundings' waving geometry mountains is also really important.The result is an exercise of rooftops aggregation as an interpretation of the architecture addition that helps configuring a volume capable of connecting tradition and nature.
On the inside,the project obeys the functional requirements derived of an industrial process.The project optimises the means,the volume and the circulation to allow the building to have the maximum flexibility and adaption to the process.

Constructively,the project is solved with a simple steel structure and one single material for the cladding,a corrugated steel sheet that forms the façade and the rooftop,obtaining a stripped image that reminds– conceptually– some of the old wood strips constructions going dark because of the passage of time,commonly found in this latitude.□(Text by Antonio Vaíllo)
