Chinese 10⁃year⁃old girl went viral for cooking中华小当家

10岁女孩厨艺精湛，颠勺甩锅，动作娴熟，被称为现实版“中华小当家”。

Sun Jiarui， a fourth grader at a primary school in the city of Wuxi， East Chinas Jiangsu Province， can cook more than 50 delicacies， which is no easy feat—even for an adult.

Short videos of the young cooking star have gone viral. She has more than 830，000 followers and 9 million likes on Douyin， the Chinese version of TikTok. “My daughter just grew up in the kitchen. She started helping out with chores when she was around 4 or 5， and when she was 8， she asked me to teach her to cook after school. Its not bad for her to master some hands⁃on life skills， so she can better take care of herself when she grows up，” says Sun Yadong， d405f691d76e28467decb73b18f775c6who is the owner and chef of a farm restaurant in Wuxi.

“It was out of curiosity at first， but gradually， I fell in love with cooking. It gives me a strong sense of accomplishment，” says Jiarui. She has also become a teacher in her schools cooking class. “Its a great thing for the students to experience the joy of cooking and the fruits of their labor. This will ultimately help cultivate their passion for life，” says Li Hua， principal of the school.

Jiarui hopes that the course will offer students more hands⁃on opportunities to master basic life skills and share the burden with their parents. “This is what schooling is supposed to be like，” reads one online users comment.
