So Wa Wai,known as the“Wonder Boy,”is a retired athlete from Hong Kong,China,who has competed in the Paralympic Games on five occasions and won six gold medals.He is the world record holder of men’s 100m and 200m running in T36 classification.Based on true events in his life,the movie depicts an inspirational story in light of his mother’s efforts.With her accompaniment,So struggles to overcome his physical disabilities,learns to stand up,and develops a talent in running.Eventually,he is qualified to participate in the paralympic track and field competitions and wins the Paralympic championship.

The film showcases So’s experiences from his mother’s perspective,focusing on the various roles she plays at different stages of his life.She supports her child behind the scenes,reassuring him about his training and life.The film gives the audience a very visual understanding of the stories of a Paralympic athlete and highlights the courage he takes to challenge his fate.
