Why didn't most kinds of life on the earth disappear from the earth because of the death？ Because both animals and plants have their own life cycles， and each of the life cycles has a beginning and an end， which means the living things from birth to death. The year 2022 is the Chinese year of the Tiger. Today， let us take a look at the life of a tiger.

为什么地球上大多数的生物没有因为个体的死亡而在地球上消失呢？因为无论是动物还是植物都有自己的生命周期，生命周期都有开始和结束，即生物从出生到死亡。2022年是中国“虎年”。今天， 就让我们一起来了解一下老虎的一生吧。

The lifetime of a tiger is generally 20～25 years. Like most animals， a tiger's life cycle has to go through four stages： birth， growthand development， reproduction and death.

老虎的寿命一般为20至25年，老虎的生命周期和大多数的动物一样，都要经历出生、生长发育、繁衍和死亡四个阶段。

Birth： Birth refers to thebirth of a new life. It generally can bedivided into oviparity and viviparity.Oviparity， refers to a shell that isbasically protected outside theembryo， such as chickens，

butterflies， frogs， etc. Vviparity is the direct separation of the embryo from the mother's body， such as humans and tigers. A baby tiger weighs about 1 to 2 kilogrammes when it is bom， and is about 10 centimeters long， which is not as big as the palm of an adult. However， the little tiger will have patterns on its body as soon as it is bom， and there are stripes similar to the Chinese character “王"on its head.

由生：出生指新生命的诞生，一般可以分为卵生和胎生。卵生，指的是基本上胚胎外有保护的壳，如鸡、蝴蝶、青蛙等。胎生，指直接把胚胎从母体内分离出来，如人、老虎等。一只小老虎刚出生时重1?2千克，长约10厘米，还没有成年人的一个手掌大。不过小老虎一出生身上就有花纹，头上还有一个酷似汉字“王"的斑级。

Growing and developing： Baby tigers live with their mothers for about two years. During this period， the baby tigers will learn to climb， chase， slaughter， and fight， all skills are necessary for later life. At about two years of age， tigers leave their mothers to live independently.

生长发育：小老虎与虎妈妈一起生活大约两年。在这期间，小老虎将学习攀爬、追逐、猎杀和战斗，这些都是以后生活的必备技能。老虎大约在两岁时离开虎妈妈独立生活。

Reproduction： The increase in the number of living things， which is a life behavior that breeds offspring. Female tigers begin to reproduce at about 3 years old， while male tigers later. From November to February of the next year， tigers begin to enter the breeding season. After agestation period of about 105 days， female tigers will give birth to 1 to5 cubs.

繁衍：生物数量的增加，这是一种孕育后代的生活行为。雌性老虎大约在3岁时开始繁殖后代，雄性老虎晚一些。每年的11月到第二年的2月，老虎们开始进入繁殖期，雌性老虎经过105天的怀孕期，便会产下1至5只小老虎。

Death： Death is the disappearance of a life. Death also means the loss of life， the termination of life. In addition to fighting factors， most tigers died of disease or natural aging.

死亡：死亡即一个生命的消失。死亡指丧失生命，生命终止。除了战斗因素外，大多数的老虎都是病死或者自然死亡的。
