Continuous tannin extraction by use of screw reactorMarkku Kuosa, Antti Heikkinen, Tapio Tirri, and Lasse Pulkkinen
»COVER CREDIT:Finnish researchers Kuosa, Heikkinen, Tirri, and Pulkkinen used a pilot-scale screw reactor to extract tannin from spruce, showing that yield was the same or better than with batch reactors (p. 139). Their most surprising finding was how much presoaking of bark affects tannin yield, with longer times providing better results.
