[Abstract] Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Juanbi Decoction in rheumatoid arthritis (RA)and its influence on RF, anti-CCP antibody, ESR and CRP. Methods A total of 70 RA patients admitted to the outpatient department of Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine from October 2016 to October 2018 were selected as research objects. According to open, parallel and control principle, they were divided into the tripterygium wilfordii group(n=35) and the methotrexate group(n=35). Patients in the tripterygium wilfordii group received Juanbi Decoction, and patients in the methotrexate group received methotrexate. The main symptoms, signs scores, laboratory indicators, and clinical efficacy of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results The decrease of joint pain score after treatment was significantly higher in the tripterygium wilfordii group than that in the methotrexate group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The decreases of tender joint count and swollen joint count were significantly higher in the tripterygium wilfordii group than that in the methotrexate group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The shortening of the duration of morning stiffness was significantly higher in the tripterygium wilfordii group than that in the methotrexate group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After treatment, the decrease of the levels of RF, anti-CCP antibody, ESR and CRP were significantly higher in the tripterygium wilfordii group than those in the methotrexate group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The total effective rate of the tripterygium wilfordii group was 94.29%(33/35), which was significantly higher than that of (71.43%[25/35]) in the methotrexate group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of Juanbi Decoction in rheumatoid arthritis is better than that of methotrexate, and it can effectively reduce the levels of RF, anti-CCP antibody, ESR and CRP.
