Always Thirsty
“I had an operation,” said a man to his friend, “and the doctor left a sponge in me.”
“Thats terrible!” said the friend. “Got any pain?”
“No, but I am always thirsty!”
A Gentle Reminder
Having been married a long time, my husband sometimes needs a gentle reminder of a special occasion. On the morning of our 35th anniversary, we were sitting at the breakfast table when I hinted, “Honey, do you realize that weve been sitting in these same two seats for exactly 35 years?”
Putting down the newspaper, he looked straight at me and said, “So, you want to switch seats?”
Fried Chicken
In class the teacher shows pictures of all kinds of birds. Then he asks one of the students, “What kind of bird do you like best, Jack?”
Jack thinks a moment, then answers, “Fried chicken, sir.”
A Girls Wish
On the way home after watching a ballet performance, the kindergarten teacher asked her students what they thought of it. The smallest girl in the class said she wished the dancers were taller so that they would not have to stand on their toes all the time.
A Good Boy
Little Robert asked his mother for two cents. “What did you do with the money I gave you yesterday?” “I gave it to a poor old woman,” he answered. “Youre a good boy,” said the mother proudly. “Here are two cents more. But why are you so interested in the old woman?” “She is the one who sells the candy.”
