Abstract: Trump administration has used sanctions to solve diplomatic problems. It has created many new sanctions programs and put more emphasis on human rights sanctions. It has also made more use of secondary sanctions, export controls and investment restriction. Both sanction-related criminal enforcements and fines have hit new highs. The main reason is that President Trump and his economic team are keen on “Money War”. Meanwhile, sanctions can meet Trump’s requirements for easy achievements, and can also contain and suppress opponents. But the sanctions have undermined the US ally system and boosted the de-dollarization and it will be difficult to reach the goal in the future.

WangShida
Abstract: Hindu nationalism was born during Indian struggle for national independence in the 19th century, and its core appeal was to establish a “Hinduism-ruled State”. Since it came to power in 2014, Bharatiya Janata Party has adopted a series of policies to promote Hindu nationalism as the mainstream ideology of India. Hindu nationalism puts much emphasis on the domestic issues, at the same time, it shapes India’s foreign policy subtly and continues to influence India’s relations with major powers as well as neighboring countries. In the future, Hindu nationalism is gaining more momentum. The influence of Hindu nationalist organizations such as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will continue to expand, but it will face the challenges of traditional trends such as secularism and pluralism.

China-USEnergyCompetitionandCooperationintheContextofBilateralTradeWar

Abstract: China-US energy cooperation has been negatively influenced by the escalation of trade war between China and US. As China-US energy cooperation is increasingly reduced and energy competition is becoming more intensified, Sino-US energy relations are at risk of being evolved into overall deterioration. The reason for the intensification of China-US energy competition is rooted in the difference of energy interests and ideas between both countries. “Energy dominance” policy under Trump’s administration resulted in the China-US energy competition and the escalation of trade war between China and US ignited the deterioration of China-US energy relations. Although the China-US energy competition is increasing, the China-US energy cooperation still has solid foundation and huge potential especially in the energy trade and clean technology field. In the long run, the China-US cooperation in energy transition is vital for addressing the common challenges of climate change because China and the US are among the greatest countries of energy production, consumption and CO2 emission in the world. China should take all possible actions to prevent the further escalation of China-US competition and reverse the current course to cooperation, and prepare for worst-case scenario.

Abstract: The euro is not only an important achievement of European integration and the European single market, but also the second largest international currency. However, Euro’s internationalization is facing many challenges. Since the second half of 2018, the European Union’s willingness to expand the international influence of the euro has become more obvious due to its own economic and strategic interests in the context of new global developments. Meanwhile, the EU has proposed some practical movements, which are more assertive?than in the past. In the future, the euro internationalization?can achieve some practical results, but due to many realistic conditions, it is difficult to make leap-forward progress at the international level.
