【例1】

I’m going to talk about my father because he has been a major influence （主要影响）in my life. My father was always a good role model for me as I was growing up. He’s hard-working， patient and understanding; he’s also got a good sense of humor and seems to get on well with everybody. Hopefully I’ve inherited（遗传）some of these traits（特质）.

I admire my father because I think he brought me and my brothers/sisters up well; he was quite strict but always fair， and he has always been someone I can turn to for advice. I think my father set a good example by working hard and having a positive outlook on life. I remember that he used to leave for work early and come home quite late， but he always made time for me and my brothers / sisters.

Someone I admire is my cousin Laura. She’s five years older than me， so she’s 19 now and she lives in Britain. She’s very friendly and confident（自信的）and she’s got long， wavy（波浪狀的）， brown hair and greeny-brown eyes. She’s medium height（中等身高）， slim and very fit because she’s a dancer.

She’s been dancing since she was six years old and trains every day at her dance school. She wants to be a professional dancer， but it’s a very difficult profession because it’s so competitive. She often dances in shows and I’ve been to watch her several times. Her favorite type of dance is modern， which is sometimes a bit strange， but I love watching her dance.

Laura is very busy because she also studies photography（摄影）at university. She’s a really good photographer and has taken lots of amazing photos of me and my family. Her photos have won a few prizes and last year one of her photos was in an exhibition（展览） at an art gallery in London.

Laura doesn’t have a lot of free time and she’s also trying to learn German because she wants to go to Germany next year to do a photography course. I think Laura is very hard-working and she deserves to become a professional dancer one day.
