“Time,” a word full of memory and rich connotations,is always recording the past footprints of each individual and group of people. The year 2020 is an unforgettable “time” journey for every Wuhan resident, all the Chinese people, and the entire world, for the COVID-19 pandemic put nearly everything to an abrupt halt.Like other entertainment facilities in Wuhan,Tanghu Museum of Art was also temporarily shut down.
As the situation gradually turned for the better,Tanghu Museum of Art decided to launch the 3rd children’s drawing exhibition themed on “Time” on June 1,2020.
All the children nationwide were invited to paint the world in their own eyes with brushes during their home quarantine.Within a month after the invitation was sent, children from 18 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions answered the call.More than 400 works gathered quickly together in Wuhan.119 among them were singled out by experts. These drawings best represented the dreams and creations of children, imbued with their interest and imagination. Many of them expressed their concerns about Wuhan and blessings for the future of mankind.
Children are born with imagination and creativity. Therefore their works express their awareness of the universe with genuine innocence and from their unique perspectives.Combining infinite imagination, childish techniques, and unrestricted artistic expression together,it may be much easier for them to capture the fleeting inspirations than for the adults.(Translation: Cao Qing)
