From a child I was fond of reading(《自幼爱读书》)的美文后,纷纷发来读后感。现从其中选取一篇,以飨读友。
Reading makes a full man and a person is what he reads. In the article From a child I was fond of reading,Benjamin Franklin shares his early reading experience, which leaves me to much meditation upon how to read, especially upon how to be a good reader.
Strong determination is one of the keys to being a good reader. Franklin had a thirst for knowledge, making him hunt for books even when it was difficult for him, a poor young boy, to buy books, and he did manage to do it. As the saying goes, “when you make up your mind, the whole world will make way for you.” Strong determination puts you forward to what you want. It works on realizing our dreams as well as reading.
The extension after reading also contributes to being a good reader. Many of us, when reading, look through it, put away it and forget it sooner or later. Compared with Franklin, I felt ashamed. He did read the book over and over again and imitate it to improve his writing, making the greatest use of the book with diligence and reflection. As far as I am concerned, the more we extend after reading, the more we can absorb into ourselves.
He who has knowledge behaves with elegance, which grows out of reading. If you want to be a good reader, just read with determination and have more extension.
