A Large Molybdenum Deposit Discovered In Pingquan, Hebei

It is learned from Henan National Resources Office, a new molybdenum deposit was discovered in Chaijiagou, Pingquan, Hebei. Based on the identification of Evaluation Center of Resource Reserves in Hebei, filed resource reserves of Chaijiagou molybdenum deposit achieves large scale.

It is reported that this deposit was discovered and explored by team No. 514 of North China Geological Exploration Bureau, after 5 years of exploration.

It is typical porphyry molybdenum deposit, formed in Yanshanian epoch. Ore body is buried in the ground, no outcrop, so it is very difficult to explore. After studying the previous anomalies of dispersion and rock mass characteristics and compared typical deposit model, researcher believed this region would be promising in prospecting. They made bold efforts in drilling exploring and finally achieved great breakthroughs. With the deepening of works in geology, geophysical prospecting, chemical prospecting and drilling, a deeply buried large molybdenum deposit in Yanshan Mountains in North Hebei was unveiled.

Molybdenum mine is a kind of vital resource and of important value in military and aerospace world. The exploration of this deposit again manifests the leading position China is taking in molybdenum resource. It also provides an example for northern area to explore deposits of the same type.
