wonder用法释疑

1. wonder作及物动词，意为“想知道；对……感到怀疑；对……感到惊讶”。

（1） 后接 who， what， why， where等引导的宾语从句。

I wonder who she is. 我想知道她是谁。

I wondered what that noise was. 我纳闷儿那是什么声音。

I wonder why you cant credit him. 我想知道你为什么不信任他。

I was just beginning to wonder where you were. 我刚才正琢磨你上哪儿了呢。

（2） 后接 that 引导的宾语从句，表示“感到惊奇；对……感到惊讶”，that可省去。

I wonder （that） she didnt finish her homework. 我对她没有完成作业感到惊讶。

It is little wonder （that） she was so upset. 她如此心烦意乱，并不奇怪。

（3） 后接动词不定式短语。

I wondered to see you there. 看到你在那里，我感到惊讶。

I wonder to see him looking so cheerful. 我见他显得那么高兴感到奇怪。

（4） 后接“疑问词+不定式”构成的短语。

Im just wondering how to do it. 我正想知道该怎样做那件事。

Our teacher wondered how to use the machine. 我们的老师想知道如何使用这台机器。

2. wonder 作名词，意为“奇迹；奇观；惊讶；惊奇”。

The Grand Canyon is one of the natural wonders of the world. 科罗拉多大峡谷是世界自然奇观之一。

He retained a childlike sense of wonder. 他仍然有一种孩子般的好奇感。

3. wonder常用固定句型。

（1） Its a wonder that... 意为“奇怪的是……”。

Its a wonder that she is still alive. 奇怪的是她还活着。

Its a wonder （that） more people werent hurt. 奇怪的是没有更多的人受到伤害。

（2） Its no wonder that... 意为“难怪……”。

Its no wonder that they wont come. 难怪他们没有来。

Its no wonder that youre tired， youve been walking for hours. 难怪你累了呢，你一直走了好几个小时。
