1. When is your birthday， Linda？

琳达，你什么时候过生日？

“When is ones birthday？”是询问某人生日是何时的句型。如：

When is your birthday， John？

约翰，你什么时候过生日？

when 可以用来对年、月、日等时间提问，回答时用介词in，on，at等加具體时间。如：

—When do you go home？

你什么时候回家？

—I usually go home at six oclock.

我通常6点钟回家。

—When do the tourists go to Hainan Island？

游客一般什么时候到海南岛游玩？

—They often go there in summer.

他们经常夏天去那里。

2. My birthday is on May 2nd.

我的生日是5月2日。

（1）birthday意思是“生日”。当祝贺别人的生日时，我们常说：“Happy birthday to you！”，意为“祝你生日快乐！”外国人在过生日时经常会举行一个“birthday party”（生日聚会）来进行祝贺。

—Today is my birthday.

今天是我的生日。

—Happy birthday to you！

祝你生日快乐！

（2）当别人问“When is your birthday”时，我们可以回答“My birthday is...”，也可以用“Its on...”。当日期具体到某一天时要用介词on，on在此句型中可以省略；如果只是说在哪个月，或哪一年时，介词用in。如：

My birthday is （on） October tenth.

我的生日在10月10号。

Tree Planting Day is in March.

植树节是在3月。

3. When is your fathers birthday？

你爸爸什么时候过生日？

fathers是名词所有格形式，意思是“爸爸的……”。名词所有格是由名词 + s构成的，译为“……的”。其具体用法如下：

（1）名词单数+ s

This is my uncles bedroom.

这是我叔叔的卧室。

That is Nicks backpack.

那是尼克的背包。

（2）以s或es结尾的名词复数只加

These are students textbooks.

这些是学生的课本。

These two sweaters are the twins.

这两件毛衣是双胞胎的。

（3）如果事物或人是两个名词共同所有，则在后一个名词上加 s。

This is Lucy and Lilys room.

这是露西和莉莉的房间。

Miss Green is Lin Tao and Lin Fans teacher.

格林小姐是林涛和林帆的老师。

（4）如果事物或人是两个名词分别所有，则在每一个名词后加 s。

These are Lucys and Lilys desks.

这是露西和莉莉的书桌。

4. How old are you？

你多大了？

此句的意思是“你多大了？/你多大年龄？”，how old对年龄提问，回答时常用句型“Im + 数词”或“Im... years old.”。如：

—How old is your brother？

你的弟弟多大了？

—Hes only five （years old）.

他只有5岁。

—How old are you？

你多大年龄了？

—Im eleven （years old）.

我11岁。

注意：在讲英语的国家，可以询问孩子的年龄，但对于成年人一般不直接问及年龄，尤其是女士。问女士的年龄被认为是不礼貌的，而且对方也不予回答。

1. 序数词的构成：

一般在基數词后加th， 如：four→fourth， thirteen→thirteenth，多位数把个位变序数词。

2. 基数词变序数词：

基数词变为序数词的规则（口诀）：

基变序，有规律，词尾加上 th；

一、二、三特殊记，结尾t、d、d。

八减t，九减e，f要把ve替；

ty把y改为i，记得th前有个e。

3. 序数词的用法：

（1）the+序数词，表示“第几”。如：

John lives on the fifteenth floor.

约翰住在十五楼。

（2）年月日的表达。年用基数词表示，日用序数词表示。如：

May 1st， 2018 2018年5月1日
