As the name suggests, the private residence is built around three large Tembusu trees planted half a century ago by the patriarch. The species are protected by the National Park Board. To work around the trees that have significant historical and ecological values, the house is designed with two major blocks interconnected by a main circulation spine crossing in between the buあers of these trees. All the main living spaces are designed to be opened facing the trees, where the indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly bleeds into each other, creating interesting vistas and views around these Tembusu trees.
