New teacher—student Relationship in Junior English Class Teaching

Different backgrounds and social institutions generate different teacher-student relation. Feudal society stresses on “honor the teacher and revere his teaching”, teacher has the absolute authority. Teacher-student relation in capitalism has been deeply influenced. But in modern socialist society, the relation is democratic, equal, respecting teacher and loving students alike.

Be democracy and equality. Teacher and students should be equal on both personality and knowledge. The core of the relation is that both teacher and students should accept and respect each other by heart. The premise of teachers strict request is respect, true concern, trust and impartiality.

Be Communication and cooperation. Teacher and students have the equal position in English class teaching. They are all the host of the class. Besides, they need to cooperate and help each other in order to fulfill the teaching aim together. Teaching is a process that teacher and students could communicate with each other, interact actively and make process together. The communicative and cooperative relation is the premise that the teaching task could move smoothly. So without communication and interaction, there is no teaching at all. Whats more, during the process, students will find their value and have more confidence.

Be guiding part and main part. This relation changes the traditional teacher-centered to student-centered. Teacher plays the part of activity manager, barrier eliminator, message catcher, judge, organizer, or say a guider. Learner-centered education means in English class teaching, key decision about what will be taught, how it will be taught and when it will be taught will be made with reference to the learners. With these effective methods, they will get higher marks and then they will have greater interest and confidence on study. Base on it, it will surely promote English teaching.
