The Yeti

A People say the Yeti is a big, scary monster. It lives in the mountains ofTibet[西藏]andNepal[尼泊尔]where it is very cold.

B It is very tall and heavy. Some people think it is 2 or 3 metres tall. It has thick white or grey fur to keep it warm. It has long arms and it walks on its back legs. It has sharp teeth and it is very dangerous. It looks like a big monkey or bear. Some people say the Yeti smells very bad.

C The people who live in the mountains don’t like the Yeti.

They tell their children scary stories about it. “Don’t go walking

alone in the mountains, or the Yeti will catch you!”

D No one knows if the Yeti is real. Lots of people say they have seen one. Other people say they have seen footprints in the snow that belong to the Yeti. But there aren’t any photos or videos of the Yeti. And no one has ever caught one.
