Secret Words Give Women Voice 神秘文字让女性发声

有同学看过李冰冰和全智贤主演的电影《雪花秘扇》吗？她们在影片中饰演闺蜜，两人写信用的就是女书！女书到底是什么呢？

In China， some women have a secret language. Its called nüshu， meaning “female script”.在中国，一些妇女有一种秘密的语言，叫女书，意思是“女性的文字”。

Nüshu is a written language with a long history. Hundreds of years ago， it became popular among women in Jiangyong county（县），Hunan. Women there could not go to school at the time. So they made their own words. Men could not understand them.女书是一种历史悠久的书面语。数百年前，它流行于湖南省江永县。那里的妇女当时不能上学读书，于是她们发明了自己的语言。这些语言男人是看不懂的。

Women used nüshu to write poems（诗）and songs about their lives. They wrote them on pages， in books and on fans. They even stitched（缝）them in clothing. During parties， they sang them aloud（大声地）.那里的女性用女书来写关于她们生活的诗歌和歌曲。她们把这些诗歌和歌曲写在书和扇子上，甚至缝在衣服上。在聚会中，她们还大声歌唱这些诗歌和歌曲。

But today， not many women can write nüshu anymore. Jiangyong county wants to save（挽救）nüshu. Some high schools in Jiangyong start nüshu lessons.但是今天已经没有多少女性写女书了。江永县想要挽救女书，为此江永县的一些中学开设了女书课程。

Zhao Liming is a professor（教授）at Tsinghua University. She works with an app called Talkman （翻译精灵）. Since September， users can learn nüshu through this app.赵丽明是清华大学中文系的教授。她致力于一个应用程序，叫做Talkman（翻译精灵）。自九月起，用户可以通过这个应用程序学习女书了。

Ancien（古代的）China had four great inventions： compass（指南针），gunpowder（火药），paper making and printing（印刷术）. These inventions changed the world.中国古代有四大发明：指南针、火药、造纸和印刷，这些发明改变了世界。

It is on your mobile phone. You can use it to pay for（付钱）things. You dont need to carry cash. What is it？ Alipay！它在你的手机上，你用它来付账，你从此不需要带现金，它是什么？支付宝嘛！

The company Alibaba invented（发明）Alipay a few years ago. It is simple （简单的）to use. You just scan the QR code（扫描二维码）with your phone to pay for things.几年前，阿里巴巴公司发明了支付宝。它使用起来很简单，你可以用它来扫二维码进行付账。

Many people like shopping online. It is cheaper. It is convenient， too. The deliverymen（快递员）bring goods（货品）to your house.很多人喜欢网购，因为便宜实惠，也因为方便快捷。快递员会把你网购的货品送到你的家门口。endprint

There are even many new“online shopping festivals”in China， for example， the “Double Eleven.”在中国还有许多新的“网购节”，比如“双十一”。

Foreign customers are also interested in Chinas internet shopping. They can buy goods from some Chinese shopping websites（网站）.外国人也对中国的网购很感兴趣，他们从一些中国的购物网站上买东西。

Its hard for famous people to be true to themselves. After all， fans always want to see their good side. But Chinese singer and actor Huang Zitao， 24， always shows his true feelings.明星真的很难做真实的自己。毕竟，粉丝们总是希望看到他们好的一面。但中国歌手、演员，年仅24岁的黄子韬，总是能表现出自己的真实感受。

He is good at singing， dancing， martial arts（武术）and sports.黄子韬很自信。63岁的中国演员成龙非常看重他的才能，这让他很高兴，甚至在采访中也提及此事。黄子韬有很多天赋都是真实的。他擅长唱歌、跳舞、武术和体育。

Huang proves himself through hard work. In the show Takes a Real Man （《真正男子汉》），he tried to be a real soldier（士兵）in the army（军队）. When he left the army， he even cried. Some people began to change their opinion of him.
