On September 22nd, 2017 Beijing Fashion Summit was held at National Museum of China. Sponsored by Beijing Textile and Garment Industry Association, Beijing Fashion Holdings Co., Ltd., as well as the magazine Fashion, and undertaken by Beijing Fashion Week Co., Ltd. and Beijing Fashion Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., the summit was one of important sectors of 2017 Beijing Fashion Week, and a wisdom feast with the collection of social value, ideological value and cultural value, under the guidance of Beijing Municipal Committee Propaganda Department, Beijing Federation of Trade Unions,Beijing Economic and Information Commission, Beijing State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office, as well as the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality.
Under the new strategic positioning of capital city, it has brought important opportunities for the development of Beijing fashion industry, to accelerate the ease of non capital function, speed up the upgrading of traditional industry, as well as promote the construction of national cultural center. At the same time, new consumption patterns, attitudes towards life, values and attitudes of the millennial generation have also created blue ocean of fashion culture consumption. With the theme of “Culture·Technology·Consumption”,this forum focused on the hot topics of the development of fashion industry, gathered leading experts from the industrial, academic and political circles, to make in-depth analysis of domestic and foreign current situation and trend of the fashion industry, and build a comprehensive development plan of Beijing fashion industry.
Yu Junsheng, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Committee Propaganda Department, pointed out in his speech that, Beijing, as the national cultural center, had a deep cultural background and rich cultural resources, aggregated cultural enterprises as well as broad prospects for the development of cultural creative industry. In recent years, Beijing has made great progress in accelerating the construction of national cultural center, and promoting the development of public cultural undertakings and cultural creative industries. Especially in cultural creative industries, it has become an important pillar industry in Beijing city, with expanding industry and improved development quality. He hoped that Beijing fashion industry should strengthen the research of fashion culture, integration of industry resources, exchanges of international fashion culture, as well as popularity of fashion cultural consumption concept, so as to create creative products with beauty and cultural deposits, and improve the competitiveness of fashion industry and internationalization level of Beijing city.

Wu Li, director of Beijing Fashion Week Committee, indicated that 2017 Beijing Fashion Summit, as one of important sectors of 2017 Beijing Fashion Week, aimed to gather the wisdom and power of the industrial, media, academic and political circles, so as to promote fashion industry and fashion culture, and make it become a leading industry with the integration of high technology to promote creative fashion,enhance domestic consumption and lead the international development. Meanwhile,around the strategic goal to build and promote Chinese civilization and lead the fashion of the era, we could seek the cultural co-existence and symbiosis among innovative culture, fashion culture, ancient culture, red culture and Beijing-style culture.
Relying on the intellectual resources of many universities and research institutes, Beijing has initially formed a leading cultural and creative industrial structure system with fashion culture industry. The fashion industry, as a typical urban industry, spanned the industrial boundaries between value-added manufacturing and modern service industries. Under the current environment, it would be an urgent topic for the Beijing fashion industry to position and shape brand culture, maintain brand activity, and reconstruct consumption system to lead the fashion of consuming.
2017 Beijing Fashion Summit, focusing on in-depth study on the subject industry, invited the government and industry leaders, fashion figures, scholars and experts, as well as cross-industry elites, to deliver speeches from four major topics:brand building in new world economic pattern, symbiotic integration between eastern and western fashion design, influence of technology innovation on fashion industry, as well as consumption upgrade of mass entertainment and fashion industry.
One salon with the theme of “Return to product nature & create value by heart”, was sponsored by Beijing Snow-lotus Group Co., Ltd. and China Costume Magazine Agency, to make in-depth exploration from design, manufacturing and culture, and build high-quality brand products according to fashionable and cultural consumption value demands.
Another salon with the theme of “Television Culture·Fashionable Life”, was sponsored by Beijing Meiwei 101 Cultural Media Co., Ltd., to analyze the influence on fashion consumption upgrade, and discuss the unique aesthetic and consumption trends, with the combination of classical film and television works.
The forum invited more than 200 guests both at home and abroad to make keynote speeches form the above four topics. In addition, during the round table conversation, the guests discussed the current situation and future development, and made suggestions to accelerate the development of Beijing fashion industry, from different angles and levels.
