When we talk about red, we immediately think of China Red. While black, white, terra rossa, and chocolate were the earliest kinds of colours used in the Chinese history, red was actually the one that was deemed the most fashionable. And when it came to the slavery period, cyan, red, white, black, and yellow were considered to represent the fi ve orientations (east, south, west, north, and middle), and the fi ve elements(wood, fi re, earth, metal and water).
In the feudal age, yellow represented authority and solemnity, and was considered to be a symbol of wisdom and civilization. Therefore, nobody was allowed to wear yellow except for the emperor.
The yin-yang astrologists in the ancient times used to see the quot;fi ve elementsquot; as the quot;fi ve virtuesquot;, while each of the dynasties of the past ages was deemed as one of the fi ve quot;virtuesquot;. For instance, black was popular in Xia Dynasty; white was favoured in Shang Dynasty. People in Zhou Dynasty, worshiped quot;fi requot;,consequently, red was the most sacred colour of the time. The colour in favour was changed to cyan in early Han Dynasty, but eventually changed back to fi re again.
In Ming Dynasty, red was advocated to be used both in the areas of politics and culture, since the royal family name at the time was quot;Zhuquot;, which carries the meaning of quot;redquot;. Gradually, the culture of red slowly sinks deep into the Chinese culture, and has become the essence and representation of China.
In fact, the term quot;China Redquot; does not exist in the colour wheel. And the quot;China Redquot; was originally thought to be the colour of ramparts, which is more like brick-red or vermilion. In recent years, as fashion designers have started to gain inspiration from oriental culture, all tones and layers of red have eventually become quot;China Redquot; in the eyes of Chinese people. This is actually a beautiful mistake, since there are far more kinds of colours that represent China, such as cyan, white, black, and yellow. However, red is defi nitely the most loved one for Chinese people.
Red embodies passion, romance, power, and charm. It is the all-time love for all women. However the fashion trend changes, red is here to stay.
This winter, the colour women are most fond of is coming back with full force. Why resist? Just embrace the temptation, and make the most out of it!

Garnet is a lot more low-key in comparison to bright red. However, it is more dynamic compared to dull red. Garnet is the kind of red that makes the colour look warm and artistic. Not only would it make your skin look fair, garnet is also easier to match up than magenta. You can match it with jumpsuits, dresses or coats.
