The Press Conference for the 16th China (Dalang) International Woolen Knitwear Fair (CIWKF) was successfully held in Beijing on July 12th, announcing that the 16th CIWKF themed on “Vitality ? New Woolen City” will meet with you from this November 1st - 3rd in Dalang to witness new transformation and upgrading of Dalang woolen industry.

Dalang woolen knitwear market enjoys an annual turnover of 70% of the total sales value in Guangdong Province, ranked the top three among national similar products. Up to now, in Dalang Town, the total number of wool textile enterprises is more than 10,000 with more than 1,000 woolen knitwear trademarks. In particular, in 2016, Dalang woolen knitwear achieved industrial output value of 18.2 billion yuan, accounting for 34.7% of total industrial output value in Dalang, of which the above-designated woolen enterprises saw nearly 10 billion yuan.

In the context of industrial upgrading and consumption upgrade, it is a must for woolen knitwear industry to transfer from the traditional and labor-intensive industry to the technological, green, and fashion industry. In order to promote the comprehensive transformation and upgrading of “Made in Dalang”to “Designed by Dalang”, “Created by Dalang”, and“Dalang Service”, Dalang has made great efforts to improve the construction of public service platform, providing strong support to the transformation. In particular, as a strong testimony of the prosperity and development of the Dalang woolen industry, the consecutive successful 15 editions of China (Dalang) International Woolen Knitwear Fair realized the perfect transformation from a local exhibition to national, and then to international.

Highlights of the 16th CIWKF

The upcoming 16th CIWKF will be featured with a good deal of highlights for such trends as intelligent production and original design, more professional and more specified. In the intelligent production zone, a series of the latest and most advanced intelligent equipment and software within the industry, such as intelligent design software, intelligent hanging system, and automatic ironing, as well the corresponding intelligent production line cases will be displayed, providing guidance for the wool enterprises to promote mechanical operation instead of handwork and improve the intelligent level. Dongguan Woolen Knitwear Designers Association will appear in the original design zone for the third consecutive year with original design as the theme, together with the local excellent designers, the excellent design studios in Pearl River Delta region and National design masters, in order to promote the original design, cultivate the original brands, advance the brand building, and provide a better display platform for design talents.endprint

In the setting up of exhibition halls, based on the effective results from last years main venue and sub-venues, the organizing committee will continue to set the main venue and sub-venues. The 200,000-sqm exhibition area will cover a variety of exhibits including woolen knitwear, woolen machinery, computer design software, yarn, and woolen knitwear accessories. Specifically, the main venue China ·Dalang Woolen Trade Center mainly exhibits woolen knitwear, design and yarn, accessories, etc.; the machinery hall is mainly about woolen machinery and supporting services; while the sub-venue Global Trade Plaza will mainly display brand clothing. The exhibition promotes the integration of resources and some industrial clusters will appear as a group in a unified form.

Not only as a platform for business meeting, brand display and communication, CIWKF is also featured by design talents cultivation and trend release. This year, CIWKF will continue to organize Online Design Competition, Woolen Knitwear Design Contest, Dynamic Trend Release and Static Show of Original Design. It is to make more efforts to promote the competitions to build a well-known design competition brand based on in-depth cooperation with institutions and enterprises. In addition, there will be Woolen Summer Camp, supply and demand meeting, purchasing meeting of contest entries and other activities, enhancing the effectiveness of the contest to promote the application of the competition results.

It is necessary to point out that the 10th China(Dalang) Woolen Knitwear Online Design Contest has received 806 manuscripts from the United States, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Inner Mongolia, the Pearl River Delta and other areas. After the initial evaluation, the top 100 works by score will be shortlisted for the final and uploaded online to accept the selection by users, and finally, the winners will be eligible to participate in the Woolen Summer Camp.

In terms of space selling and investment attract- ing, the organizing committee is to continue to expand the scope to sell space through cooperation with the European and American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, China Textile Information Center, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and other authoritative institutions to further improve the number and quality of professional visitors.

As we all know, Dalang woolen industry is mainly for overseas sales, and the sweaters are welcomed by the international market. Dalang sells 1.2 billion sweaters every year. “There is one person wearing a Dalang sweater among every five around the world”, not only thanks to the industrial scale advantages of Dalang, but also because of its well-accepted quality. However, with the sluggish global economy and shrink foreign trade, more and more Dalang enterprises have begun to turn to domestic sales, and recognized the importance of brand.
