Just like every climber longs to conquer the mountain, everyone has his or her desire for success; yet its no easy job to be on top of the mountain as there shall be obstacles all along the way, and it is the same with success. The way to success is made through effort, accompanied by inspiration and tenacity. However, one wont succeed unless he holds on to his aims.
Achievement can be made as long as he sticks to his goals and inspiration may spark if he has an eye for details. But once he lose faith in himself, all has been done will be in vain.
It was in 1930 when a Chinese student named Wang Ganchang went to the University of Berlin for further education. His tutor was Mr. Meitner, a well-known professor in the field of nuclear physics. Once in a physical symposium, someone denominated R for a penetrating radiation through experiment. Wang, who attended the meeting as well, however, held an opposite view and decided to prove himself. He told Mr. Meitner about it, only to receive a firm rejection. Later he raised his request again, but turned down for “repeating others experiment will be looked down upon”. Despite all the work that had been done, Wang had to give up due to the endless pressure from his tutor. Coincidentally, two years later, an American physician managed to prove that the penetrating radiation was not r radiation but a neutral partical flow. Soon the physician was awarded the Nobel Prize. Mr. Meitner came to apologize afterwards. But Wang said: “it wasnt you to blame, after all, I was the person who failed to hold my ground.”
What if Wang had seized the opportunity? What if he stuck to his own idea?Anyway, let bygones be bygones, the only thing thats left to do is to learn from the lesson, and try not to lose faith in ourselves, whatever happens.
Romain Rolland once said: “ The archest enemy is the lack of firm faith in oneself.” Whats in the way of holding your ground may be even bigger than thats in imagination. Will you wave the white flag in face of the cruelty of life?Or will you keep heading towards the road of faith?
Take Jack Ma for example. Words like wealthy, successful may pop into our minds the second we come upon his name. Nevertheless, his success was a bittersweet journey. Jack Ma, as known to us all, was the pioneer of Chinese online business. When it came to persuading the sponsors he wanted to gain support from, he found it hard to make himself clear the conception of e-commerce. At that time, everyone thought Ma was a dreamer, but he resided with his own plans and kept looking for breakouts to make his dream come true. Today stands the man who turned the small company Alibaba into a $160 billion behemoth. “We will make it because we are young and we never, never give ourselves up. ” Through his encouraging words, we see a man who was teased by the world yet made a remarkable achievement with his perseverance.
The moment you reach the top of the mountain, the moment you feel that sunshine shed right on you, all that sweat and ache in your body is gone, only the sweetness of conquering and happiness of holding on prevails. That is exactly what you will undergo on the path of success.
