A friend doesn’t have to be handsome or pretty

We don’t choose our friends just because they are1）witty

My friends are not perfect and others may be

Smarter or sweeter or nicer to me

Sometimes we fight

But that’s quite all right

If we’re mad in the morning

We2）make up before night

Because a friend， is a friend， is a friend

Why are we friends？ Don’t ask us why

We can’t3）explain it， we don’t even try

Friends are not perfect， they have plenty of4）flaws

But that doesn’t seem to matter at all

Whatever we may be

We’re friends ’cause I’m me

Whoever， whatever they may be

Friends are as close as family
