关于医学英文题名及摘要翻译中常见问题的探讨

摘要是以提供文献内容梗概为目的，不加评论和补充解释，简明、确切地记述文献重要内容的短文，也是整个论文的精髓和灵魂。其作用是使读者以最短的时间掌握论文最重要的信息，吸引读者进一步阅读全文和引用，从而扩大论文的影响和价值。所以在摘要翻译过程中必须忠实于原文，不能随意增加或删减，也不能不求甚解，自由发挥。本文着重探讨在翻译英文题名及摘要中应该遵循的翻译原则及常见专业术语的选用、意义指代不明与语义混淆的句子分析与更正等问题。

英文摘要作为医学论文，尤其是论著类文章的重要组成部分，有其特殊的意义和作用，他是国家间知识传播、学术交流与合作的“桥梁”和媒介。尤其是目前国际上各主要检索机构的数据库对英文摘要的依赖性很强，因此，好的英文摘要对于增加期刊和论文被检索和引用機会、吸引读者、扩大影响起着不可忽视的作用。《山东医药》的稿约中规定，中英文摘要均采用结构式摘要，包括目的（Objective）、方法（Methods）、结果（Results）、结论（Conclusion）四部分。本文结合《山东医药》第54-56卷，共144期收录和修改发表后的英文题名及摘要为例，着重探讨在翻译英文题名及摘要中应该遵循的翻译原则及常见专业术语的选用、意义指代不明与语义混淆的句子分析与更正等问题。

一、翻译原则

中国的传统翻译理论是以严复提出的“信”、“ 达”、“ 雅”三原则为特征的，这三个原则在之后的很长时间里都影响着中国的翻译思维。由于医学具有较强的专业性，因此，在医学翻译中首先要遵循的是“信”和“ 达”。 “信faithfulness”，是指译文必须与原文保持意义上的一致，英文摘要的翻译必须忠实于中文原文，不能随意增加或删减，也不能不求甚解，自由发挥。“ 达expressiveness”是指语言通顺畅达，必须在准确完整理解原文的基础上，用流畅明了，合乎英语表达习惯的语言表达出来，而不要出现 “中式英语” 或词语堆砌。 在注重“信”和“ 达”的基础上，再稍加注意英文摘要翻译中译文的修辞，力求做到“ 雅 gracefulness”， 使文字优雅，修饰得当，使读者读来心领神会。

二、常见专业术语的选用

1. 蛋白质印迹或免疫印迹法

例1：用PCR法检测各组细胞的MIB2 mRNA，用蛋白质印迹法检测各组细胞的MIB2、IκB、NF-κB蛋白，用MTT法检测各组细胞的光密度值。（山东医药56卷43期）

MIB2 mRNA was detected by PCR， the expression of MIB2， IκB and NF-κB was detected by Western immunoblotting in each group， and the optical density （OD） values were detected by MTT.

修改后：

MIB2 mRNA was detected by PCR， the expression of MIB2， IκB and NF-κB was detected by Western blotting in each group， and the optical density （OD） values were detected by MTT.

immunoblotting，即蛋白质印迹或免疫印迹法，就是Western印迹，Western印迹相应的英文是Western blotting，因此，不应当用Western immunoblotting，有重叠，可直接使用immunoblotting 或Western blotting。

2. 制备

例2：（英文题名）丝素蛋白三维支架的制备及其与骨髓间充质细胞的生物相容性观察（山东医药56卷16期）

Fabrication of three-dimensional silk fibroin scaffolds and the biocompatibility between scaffolds and BMSCs

修改后：

Preparation of three-dimensional silk fibroin scaffolds and the biocompatibility between scaffolds and BMSCs

英文词典中，fabrication 的含义为n. 制造，建造；装配；伪造物；preparation的含义为 n. 预备；准备，制备，制剂（医学）。所以上句中采用preparation更为合适。

3. 肾透明细胞癌

例3：探讨磁共振体素内不相干运动扩散加权成像（IVIM-DWI） 检查对肾透明细胞癌（CCRCC） 的术前分级诊断效能。（山东医药56卷43期）

The diagnostic value of Diffusion Weighted Imaging Based on Intravoxel Incoherent Motion in preoperative Fuhrman grading of clear cell renal cell carcinoma

修改后：

To investigate the diagnostic value of intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging （IVIM-DWI） in preoperative Fuhrman grading of clear-cell renal-cell carcinoma （CCRCC）.

肾透明细胞癌的准确表达应为clear-cell renal-cell carcinoma，与此同时，要注重连字符的使用。

4. 非小细胞肺癌

例4： 观察盐酸埃克替尼对非小细胞肺癌PC-9细胞增殖， 凋亡的影响，并探讨其机制。

To observe the effect of icotinib hydrochloride on the proliferation and apoptosis of non small lung cancer PC-9 cells and investigate its underlying mechanism.

修改后：

To observe the effect of icotinib hydrochloride on the proliferation and apoptosis of non-small-cell lung cancer （NSCLC） PC-9 cells and investigate its underlying mechanism.

非小細胞肺癌的准确表达为non-small-cell lung cancer，与此同时，也要注重连字符的使用。

5. 缺血再灌注损伤

例5：观察龙胆苦甙（GPS）后处理对离体心肌缺血/再灌注损伤（I/R）的防治作用及其可能的机制。（山东医药53卷35期）

To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effect of post-treatment with gentiopicroside （GPS） on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion and the underlying mechanism.

修改后：

缺血再灌注损伤的准确表达为ischemia-reperfusion injury

6. 成反比，成正比

例6：波长与频率成反比，而与速度成正比。

The wavelength is inversely proportional to frequency and positively proportional to velocity.

修改后：

The wavelength is inversely proportional to frequency and directly proportional to velocity.

成正比：be （directly） proportional to

成反比：be inversely proportional to

三、常见意义指代不明与语义混淆的句子分析与更正

1.语意不明，that巧用指代

例7：观察组血浆exosomes表面mTGF-β1表达阳性率为36.52%±4.26%，高于对照组的9.23%±3.77%（P0.01）。（山东医药56卷44期）

The positive rate of mTGF-β1 expression in the observation group was 36.52% ± 4.26%， which was higher than the control group （9.23% ± 3.77%） （P<0.01）.

修改后：

The positive rate of mTGF-β1 expression in the observation group was 36.52% ± 4.26%， which was higher than that （9.23% ± 3.77%） in the control group （P<0.01）.

than后面一定要加一个that of或that in，否则比较的对象不同，一个是表达阳性率，一个是对照组，逻辑上就不通了。

2. 语义混淆

例8：（英文题名）辛芍组方对缺血再灌注损伤后神经细胞氧化应激及NF-κB信号通路的影响（山东医药56卷42期）

Effects on NF-κB signaling pathway of the formula of Herba Erigerontis and Radix Paeoniae Rubra in oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation induced PC12 cells

修改后：

Effects of formula of Herba Erigerontis and Radix Paeoniae Rubra in OGD/R on oxidative stress and NF-κB signaling pathway of nerve cell after ischemia-reperfusion injury

题名中想说明的是辛芍组方对氧化应激及NF-κB信号通路的影响，但第一句中遗漏了NF-κB信号通路，并且effects of sth. on sth. 这个句式安排的语序出现问题，导致了语义混淆的出现，修改后避免了上述问题。

例9：（英文题名）姜黄素逆转慢性阻塞性肺疾病糖皮质激素抵抗的作用机制探讨

Mechanism of curcumin reverses glucocorticoid resistance in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease（山东医药56卷38期）

修改后：

Mechanism of curcumin reversing glucocorticoid resistance in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

題名中想探讨的是作用机制，而不是作用机制逆转慢性阻塞性肺疾病糖皮质激素抵抗，第一句翻译的过程中出现主语的混淆，应做第二种修改。

例10：模型组给药后1、2、4、8周时可见肾小球体积逐渐增大，基底膜逐渐增厚，毛细血管袢逐渐扩张，伴随肾小管扩张或萎缩，可见轻度纤维化。

At 1， 2， 4， and 8 weeks， rats of the model group showed gradually enlarged renal glomeruli， thickened basement membrane， and expanded capillary loops， with visible tubular dilatation or atrophy and mild fibrosis.

修改后：

At 1， 2， 4， and 8 weeks after drug administration， rats of the model group showed gradually enlarged renal glomeruli， thickened basement membrane， and expanded capillary loops， with visible tubular dilatation or atrophy and mild fibrosis.

句子中表达的时间是给药后1、2、4、8周，不是在1、2、4、8周，所以应当加入after drug administration，使语义更明确。

四、结语

医学翻译承载了传播医学科学思维、推广医学科学技术、和普及前沿医学信息的使命，因此对于医学院校本科生、硕士研究生在写作医学论文摘要时，要将基本的翻译原则“信”、“ 达”、“ 雅”应用于医学翻译，与此同时，广大医学英语翻译、英文编辑更应该将此原则很好的贯彻、以便于更准确、完整的传递医学信息、增加期刊和论文被检索和引用机会、吸引读者、扩大期刊的影响力。
