Sightseeing is an activity inherently embedded in vacationing. However, as demand for high-quality personalized tourism has emerged, the concept of the“staycation” has become a trend.

More and more people are taking “staycations” in their home towns. Instead of traveling, they stay nearby and enjoy local recreational activities. Staycation is the only choice for some due to heavy traffic jams and limited budgets and time. The concept has become popular on the Chinese mainland as people become more rational and thoughtful with their precious free time.

When holidays arrive, it is devastating to meet a hideous traffic jam after reaching the expressway. If one manages to make it to a vacation destination, they can expect squeezing through crowds and waiting in line. Most are tired of fighting for tickets, piling into cars and wading through tour- ists. Instead of the old-fashioned“group vacation,” more Chinese people are making it stylish to spend vacation at home.

Booking a holiday resort hotel or cruise ship and enjoying their streamlined leisure is another travel method growing in popularity. People can keep the comforts of home while experiencing the best side of holidays. Travelers make day trips to local tourist sites, swimming venues, or engage in activities such as horseback riding, paintball, hiking or visiting museums. A perk of these vacations is the involvement of more dining out than usual. Some hotels prepare entertainment facilities for children, or even allow pets. Whether traveling with a partner, parents or the whole family, resort hotels guarantee a great time for all.
