The traditional Milano Unica trade show has come to its 21st edition, showcasing the excellence of Made-in-Italy and Made-in-Europe production.
In the year of 2015, much is changing at Milano Unica. In addition to the newborn PRIMA MU, Milano Unica obtained an opportunity to launch the multi-faceted and international world of Milano Unica. The initiatives scheduled for the second half of 2015 have been announced, setting the milestones of the new course, since Milano Unica will become - from now on -Milano Unica World.
Milano Unica, more than an entity that organizes trade shows, is the de facto operating commercial and marketing arm of the Italian textile business associations, and represents Made in Italy textiles and accessories: a precious asset for the economy and also for the countrys image, recognized and supported by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and by the Deputy Minister Carlo Calenda. An asset that is also supported and professionally backed by ICE Agency, the Italian Trade Promotion Agency. An asset that is followed and supported by Sistema Moda Italia. An asset that is advocated by the Municipality of Milan. An asset that is sponsored by top companies: DHL, Woolmark and Banca Sella.
Milano Unica World took its first steps by organizing Milano Unica Shanghai in China. This move proved successful and generated great satisfaction in increasing the attractiveness of Made-in-Italy textiles in Asian markets, with results that were at first extraordinarily positive and have now settled into a steady trend as a result of the economic changes in the land of the dragon. This was the first step towards internationalization, bringing Made-in-Italy production into a new important market, injecting new international sap into MU Milano.
“With the extraordinary 2015 plan for the promotion of Made in Italy, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development supports the fashion sector through a wide series of initiatives. These are aimed at endorsing the Italian Fashion and Luxury industries by creating meeting opportunities between the best national textile and accessory mills and foreign buyers. This goal is being achieved thanks to Milano Unica, Italian Trade Agency and the cooperation of the sectors Associations. Synergies between parties – including the most important fairs, such as Anteprima/Lineapelle – will be the winning tool to face the challenges presented by globalization and to satisfy the increasing request of Italian fashion from foreign countries” declares Deputy Minister of economic Development, Mr Carlo Calenda.
Today, on the occasion of the debut of PRIMA MU, the following initiatives were launched: Milano Unica New York, whose debut is scheduled for July 20-22 at the Jacob Javits Center in the Big Apple; the 21st edition of Milano Unica (September 8-10); and the 8th edition of Milano Unica Shanghai (October 13-15).
