More and more of my classmates have mobile phones now. I also want one, but my mother doesnt buy one for me. Mother said, “Teenagers shouldnt use mobile phones, and its bad for your study.”
I dont think so. I said to her, “If anything urgent1 happens, I will use mobile phone to call you. I wont use it to play games. Sometimes, I can look up new words, and sometimes search for learning materials.”
“Really? Ill lend you one of my old mobile phone and it has only the function of communication and dictionary as well. Is it Okay?” said my mother.
Frankly2 speaking, I really dont want this old mobile phone. This kind of Nokia is too old, and it is unfashionable to show to my classmates.
Mother looked at me with doubts in to her eyes. I had to promise, “Well, Ill use this old one first, if I behave well, youd better buy me a new smart phone.”
My mother agreed. After two months of “test period”, Mother said, “You have passed the ‘test.”
At last mother bought me a new mobile phone. Whenever I see my classmates use mobile phones to play games, I also want to play, but I always warn myself silently, “Dont forget my promise to mom. Mobile phone is only my communication tool; I can search for learning materials, and look up new words, but can not play the games.”
I believe that good habits are formed step by step; whats more, I need to stick to them.
