Marketing Study on Secondary Metal Futures Might be Finished Within This Year
Commissioned by Shanghai Futures Exchange, China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Secondary Metal Branch is carrying out “Study on development and marketing of secondary nonferrous metal product futures variety” (ADC12 marketing feasibility study), according to insiders of the Secondary Metal Branch, the above subject is expected to be completed within this year, but there is temporarily no timetable for the marketing of relevant varieties.
AASTOCKS.com learned the above news from the Yimeng Mountain Summit Forum of China Secondary Metal 2015 opened on May 10.
ADC12 is basically recycled from aluminum scrap, it is the most likely variety for futures marketing development at the current stage, according to industry experts, study on futures marketing variety holds significant meaning, active participation in financial market by secondary metal will play important propelling effect for industry development.
At the Forum, Wang Jiwei, Vice President and Secretary-general of the Secondary Metal Branch also further said, this year one of the work tasks of the Secondary Metal Branch is to strengthen communication and docking between secondary metal industry and capital market, promote financial capital to join the industry, it also needs to fully combine with Internet, and build Internet + secondary metal development way.
China’s secondary metal industry maintained continual growth in recent years, against the background of declining international and domestic environment in 2014, output still maintained stable growth, according to data of the Secondary Nonferrous Metal Branch, in 2014 total output of four major varieties in China (secondary copper, aluminum, lead, zinc) was 11.53 million tonnes, in which secondary copper is 2.95 million tonnes, secondary aluminum is 5.65 million tonnes, secondary lead is 1.60 million tonnes, secondary zinc is 1.33 million tonnes. According to the “Twelfth Five Year Plan”, by 2015, the percentage of China’s main secondary metal outputs in copper, aluminum, and lead outputs of current year must respectively reach 40%, 30%, and 40%.
According to industry insiders, this year it is difficult to accomplish this target, but judging from mid to long term prospective, as an important component in circular economy, it is certain that secondary metal industry enjoys affirmative future development prospects and market development space, and will play bigger role for resource saving, energy conservation, emission reduction of China’s nonferrous metal industry.
It has been learned that, commissioned by ministries and commissions including the MIIT, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the secondary Metal Branch is now carrying out study of key subjects including “Thirteenth Five Year” secondary metal industry development promotion plan”, amendment of secondary lead industry standards, compilation of standards for secondary copper, secondary aluminum, rare and previous metal secondary industry. Progressive study and introduction of industry standards will also provide important support for standardized development of the secondary industry.
