In the photography exhibition,17 pictures of Chongqing are presented by the Danish photographer Jens Schott Knudsen (Kong Yansen in Chinese). He told journalists that he took 4 days to photograph these pictures by visiting many places in Chongqing when he first came to China in April this year.During the 4 days,he had not only photographed the modern city scene in Jiefangbei, but also the sunrise in the ancient town Ciqikou.“Chongqing makes me feel the intergration of new city with old town.We can see the traces of ancient times from the new city, but it was the old towns that give birth to the new city,”he said.“Chongqing people are very hospitable;although my Chinese is not so good, they still communicate with me patiently, all of which makes me feel that Chongqing is a charming and unique city,”he added.
Danish Consul-General in Chongqing: Bring More Danish Brands Here
The consul-general Ms.Anja Villefrance told us that she has fallen deeply in love with Chongqing for its natural scenery and delicious noodles since she came here 2 years ago.And she also mentioned that the only disadvantage here was the weather.“It is cloudy with heavy fogs. It’s hard to see sun!”she said. However, she thought that it was all of these advantages and disadvantages that made Chongqing a unique city where modern and ancient culture had been integrated together, and the perfect match of natural scenery with delicious hotpot attracted her.
Anja also told us that at such a meaningful time when China and Denmark have established diplomatic relations for 65 years and the consulate-general has been set for 10 years, the consulate-general plans to launch all kinds of cultural exchange programmes.During the Christma season, they will hold some activities to teach parents and kids to weave heartshape handmade articles, and the consul-general will also teach people how to make Danish cookies in person.
Besides,Anja mentioned that as China has huge market potential at present, many corporations in Denmark have entered China’s market, most of which are in the coastal areas.“Some Danish corporations on the spot today, such as Flexa,Sunquick,Moohko and so on have expanded their business in Chongqing, and we hope people in Chongqing can know more about Denmark by presenting all kinds of products from our country,”she said.“We will hold an exhibition in September this year to introduce and bring in Chongqing more brands of beverages, furnitures and so on from Denmark”,said Anja to the journalist.
